As long as someone gets either the bronze+ Assist or bronze+ Kill medal, they're okay by me. Which every one of us did. Also sorry for the crappy phone pic.

This was actually a pretty fun match. We got center hack wave six and someone managed to lock us in the Core. I got instakilled by a Phantom during I think wave eight or nine in the very beginning, That was lame. No one got angry over kill stealing or anything like that.
But lately public Gold matches tend to take 25 to 30 minutes. It's a very long time to me, but oh well. Take what you can get.

So for those who play public matches frequently too, what's a typical game looking like for you now?

You say not to assume they're noobs or suckers but you're assuming first place is a jerk. You be right most of the time but not all of the time. If I'm on 1 side of the map with the spawn and the team is getting ran over by 2 marauders, I'm not going all the way over there to revive them. So yeah no revive medals for me. Also, score is a huge indicator of DPS. If you don't have at least 80k or a silver revive medal, then imo you were not contributing. 

Agreed, it's not always reflected by revive medals. I try, almost always, to revive anyone who goes down, but if they are a mile away (due to their fault or my own) or they died in a complete cluster of enemies, then I won't try because all that'll happen is I'll add another body to the pile. Or if that's the 10th time within 3 waves that they've died, then I'll tend to abandon them. I learned that the hard way when my bleeding heart used all my medigels reviving somebody (and repeatedly getting myself killed in the process) in a Gold match... and then I was left to solo Wave 9 and went down, thus failing the match for us because I had used up all my medigel supply trying to revive someone who should NOT have been in a Gold match if survivability was such an issue for them.

I do agree with the fellow you quoted in that I feel the term "carry" is bandied about very lightly. Seeing screenshots of someone doing 200,000+ points, sure, they killed a lot, but seeing their teammates with respectable scores of 80,000 - 90,000 - 100,000+... chances are you did not carry those people. You killed more than them, which is good on you, but unless they all died at the start of every wave and you clutched the whole match (and if they did that, their scores wouldn't be that high), then that's not a carry.

I only claim to have ever carried two matches, and that is because all participants had under 50,000 points by the end and I was left alone to solo four or more waves. THAT is a carry, when you know absolutely that team would have failed had you not been in that room.

Just sayin'.

I just started playing Platinum (2 games now LOL) so my "typical" Platinum PUG is very, very good. Certainly better than my typical Gold PUG, which I already though was really good. I should keep a camera with me when I play so I'm prepared for these threads.

I'll be honest.. there comes a point in every game if your playing with 3 bad players, where you know reviving them is gonna get you killed and you know that if your down it will fail and your better off soloing if you wanna win.

Gold pugs are getting worse, played a bunch of games last night.

Actually wiped wave 8 Reapers / Reactor / Gold. Me 102K, my friend 68K, 3rd place Pugger 28K, last place pugger 12....... 12K! Playing a level 20 demolisher with Mattock, no excuse.

This was the third failed match of the night so I called it quits after that.

I carried my first gold last night, I was more proud then annoyed, though I can see how this would get annoying. Too many lv 1 guns and no mods.... I don't even think noobs know the option exists.

Wasn't using any equipment except gear so I made things a little harder for myself than they needed to be. Also, to be fair, the last guy joined midway-through, so his score is not as bad as it seems.

Dude, you're talking about the guy who made two simultaneous threads - one where he complained about the tendency that people always favor powerful kits/weapons and a second one where he expressed his appreciation for and defended the balance change at hand because it reverted the already insanely powerful Acolyte back to an even more powerful state...

He completely contradicted himself within about 5 minutes without noticing it, so what do you expect?

i feel sorry for some of yall if the avg game yall play is like the pics yall posted...for scoring to be that far apart, that means it's some horrible play going on, which isnt fun...i have no pics, but i'm on ps3 and the avg game for me isnt like that...i've had some horrible games like those posted, but those are in the minority....the avg is actually good and fun to play....
