I'm a male and I prefer playing women characters. If I am to stare at someone's backside for 60 hours and more, might as well be a behind I can actually enjoy! As long as she wears descent suit/armor and combat boots... I can't stand dresses/latex outfits and heels when it's not appropriate.

I'll play male characters only if their is romance options where I cannot have a female / female relationship. Mass Effect created the best romance option for my FemShep in the Asari. First, because it's not sex as we know it and second, because it's not being "Lesbian"

I'm a male and I always play standard looking male shep: as a male it's easier for me to play a male, but I don't consider Shep being my avatar, but as a fictional character of his own.

I guide him through the story and kind of "role-play" him according to my taste and vision of him, but never headcanoned anything about him nor I got in any way attached to him...I enjoy his adventure and his lines.

In general: I love women, but in real life I'm a pretty masculine guy, so I always play male characters when the option is given, for it's easier to sympathise with them for me as a male.

I'm male and play with a customized male Shepard.  He romanced Liara in ME and Miranda in ME2 so I guess he's a lech .

I'm Female. I love playing the male Shep and I make him gay. However, this is the only game that offers a female choice and I can't play it. One of these days I'll get back to my female Shepard, though.

It's about my preference for playing, and thats how I prefer to play.

Well I am a guy but I play with male and female shep. That said I prefer fem shep by a lot and tend to play with her more. I like that when she speaks she sounds like she has feeling to her voice that and her facial expressions (with my fem sheps face) are better then my male sheps. Also she can have garrus as an LI so that scores points as well. It is nice to see them make a female PC that I prefer.

Male, play about 70% of the time as Femshep. Personally like Hales voice acting better and the Femsheps are more pleasing to the eye, not to mention it's easier to customize and come up with different looks then BroShep.

Only real reason I play as BroShep is to try out the romance storylines for Miranda, Tali, and Ashley. Sadly in typical Male fashion never once have I romanced Kaiden, Garrus, Thane, or Jacob opting only for Kelly and Liara as well as my first ME3 playthrough where I accidently stumbled on the fact that Traynor is a FemShep romance option. In fact during ME1 I stopped talking to Kaiden completely because not only did he drone on and on about nothing but also because no matter what I said he seemed to become more and more interested. Guess who I choose on Virmire, lol? Talk about the worlds most epic friend zone.

Don't know why but it seems more often then not I go with the female character. Resident Evil 1 I spent more time playing as Jill. Resi 2 spent a little more time playing as Claire though Leon B was my favorite scenario. Resi 6 I choose to play as Helena for Leon's scenario. Dragon Age Orgins Grey Warden character is female. Currently have future plans to play as a female mage, female elf, and male dwarf...if I ever get that far. Halo Reach made my Spartan a female...well you guys get the picture.

Basically 9 times out of 10 when I have a choice I'll choose the female character.

It took me three goes getting my manShep through ME1 to achieve non-ninjamanced Ash VS....First time he spoke with her once....flagged as romance....<_<....second time he didn't speak to her at all...flagged as romance....<_<....Turned out the only way to get through it was have a go at her about her questioning him on having Aliens aboard.....

I usually play male characters more often than female characters. I do have one femshep. I love listening to Meer's voice and well, the custom Shepard I created is eye candy to me. If I'm going to spend hours playing the game, I want something good to stare it, no? )

Hale's a favorite of mine... bastila is where it all began. She's also in the online version of Star Wars: The Old Republic. I really love that game and the individual storylines.
