I think the idea that people think the ending is good, is pretty scary.

Probably when I almost thought I got Grunt killed by helping those Rachni.

Hummm... scary or tense atmosphere, not sure... to be honest not many. To be honest I think that back in ME1 at the time those generic bunkers and settlements from side quests with that creepy ambient music was enough to make me rush the place and leave ASAP (even if the same creepy music played in most of the same copy-pasted environments... it still creeped me out enough). Other than that I would say going inside the Collector's ship in ME2, the atmosphere was almost palpable... until you realize it's a trap, then it gets very tense. In ME3... not sure... maybe London in general, the desolation and because it's dark and feels so desperate and futile overall.

Hmm, I think the monastery is the only part in the game that was designed to be the "spooky" kind of scary. Hard to come up with any sort of comparison.

Well, my first playthrough through Rannoch, I picked the "allow the upload" option instead of "kill the Geth". I thought "kill the Geth" would end the conversation and block peace, but for a bit it looked like I doomed the Quarians, scariest moments in the game. Luckily, it turns out the option for peace came up in the next wheel and all was OK.

Yeah that first Adjutant was awsome. When your running around in the dark and you just see something jump above you, actually kinda startled me. Cause then i was all whens it gonna get me! Just wandering around listening to it breath in the dark trying to start that elevator. The closest thing I've seen to scary in mass effect.

Ah, I was wrong, forgot about that one!  I also think the adjutant part was the scarier one.

The Ardat-Yakshi monastery was pretty spooky. It's also one of my favorite ME3 missions ;)

I'd also have to give a shout out to the derelict Reaper. And I felt like I was being watched all of project overlord which was awsome, killed all those danm cameras.

Yes! The monastery was really spooky, sneaking around with flashlights, it's a really good mission.

They have a little of that creepy sneaking thing in Tuchanka as well, when you try to find another through it and listen to scary stories about the "big worm".

Glad to see it used again in Omega as well, those adjutants did also strike pretty high on my creep-o-meter.

I have none to be honest. I watched horror movies when I was a kid so nothing in games scares me.

Yeah. Walking around in the pitch black (with just a flashlight) hearing the banshees (even though they hadn't been revealed yet) scream gave me the willies.

So they do show up in that DLC. I might have to watch a playthrough to see what they look like outside of the comics.

Sanctuary.

I totally jump every time that husk jumps onto the glass even though I know its coming.

But the whole map just turns my stomach. It's beyond vile - mainly because its humans doing it to other humans.

Ha ha    I'm also scaredy-cat. The best part with playing a engineer is throing a turrent in front of you, going to it and then throing the next turret. How do people think my Shepard stayed alive through all the stuff. By being very very careful, lol.

@ J. Reezy   Jupp, the adjutants do show up in Omega. It's a fun dlc, you should give it a try!

Why is my Shepard crawling around each corner slowly slowly....

Image IPB
Because these nice fellas are running around in there as well  :wizard:  They like jumping up to you and give you a big hug!

@ Isaantia  I completely forgot about that part in the Sanctuary. Jupp.... that also qualifies as a really scary place. That husk you talk about almost gave me a heartattack!

I was kinda scared when I thought I made the wrong choice at the end (destroy), after beating the game and heading to forums to confirm my suspicion, turns out Destroy was the best ending.

The missions are scary in different ways. Monastery has the best build-up with distant sounds, walking around in a deserted room looking for clues as to what happened. In Tuchanka and Omega it is a little bit of running around with flashlights but I enjoy it, breaks the pace of what you were doing up until then. Sanctuary has a more sinister scary feel to it, simply because of how grim and horrible that place is.

As long as I have my turret and combat drone all is ok. I'll sneak around with flashlights np =)
