Especialy with Harrier. But hey, Harrier makes everything great I guess. But still. Adrenaline Rush's reload makes Harrier into nice boss killer.

* WOuld you count the BF3 soldier as a "base human" class? Considering it's just the HSoldier with Carnage?

No, as it needs to be unlocked from a pack. The base kits are the ones that do not need unlocking.

Thanks - that's how I thought it worked, but I have heard other people say that it only affects the shielding of the armor plating that some enemies have (e.g. Brutes, buffed Cannibals). I think there may not be another character in the game who can do more burst damage to a single armored target than the HI. Combine the Claymore + Cryo debuff + TC bonus + Shock Trooper Gear, and then add in a Sticky Grenade (which also takes advantage of the Cryo debuff and the Cloak bonus), and you can pretty much take out a Brute in like one second - and that's without consumables.Zero132132 wrote...
Armor naturally reduces the damage of each projectile by 50 on Gold and Platinum. That's why without armor piercing mods or ammo, most assault rifles and some shotguns do poor damage to armored targets. With a high velocity barrel, you naturally ignore 65% of that damage reduction, so you only lose 17.5 damage per projectile. Armor weakening and piercing effects are multiplicative, so armor weakening at 50% (don't remember if this is accurate) will bring it down to 8.75 damage reduced per projectile. The thing is, armor piercing IV ammo does 90% armor piercing itself, so you'll ignore armor DR completely with that and a high velocity barrel. Similarly, warp ammo IV has a strong armor weakening effect (don't remember the value), so I think with that and Cryo Blast, you get no damage reduction with armor. You also get a hefty damage bonus from both ammo types to armored targets. You get another hefty damage boost from tactical cloak.
Since that 25% debuff is multiplicative, the total damage is then multiplied by 1.25. I think I may have been shooting the canopy of an Atlas, which can make each shot hit twice with armor piercing. I don't know how much damage per shot I SHOULD be doing, but I know that once that Atlas's shields are down, it only takes 2 Claymore blasts to kill it with a Human Infiltrator, so long as it's Cryo Blasted, you don't miss, and you decloak, fire, RC, and fire again fast enough that both shots get the damage boost from TC.
I don't understand how anyone could think the Human Infiltrator sucks. They have great potential damage output, but people think that since Cryo Blast does 0 damage, it's not worth specing into.

I was also playing with the human sentinel for kicks and did okay, but nothing like with the engineer. Going to play the human soldiers and adepts tonight too. Been a long time since I played the base humans so the challenge is welcome to me.

Overload, great way to take care of the phantoms.
Incinerate, great agains health and armor, helps if something has primed for explosion on the target.
And the combat drone helps too.
I think I overall like the engineer class the most, they all have nice abilities and gadgets.

Nice. However, it always works like that. Just nova cancel and the whole thing is harmless.
Unsurprisingly I like the human vanguard.
