I may be alone, but I thought that it was odd that Origins didn't have a female elf as a romantic interest.  It wasn't bad considering that your warden could be a female elf herself, but just something that stuck into my mind.

Then we learned that Merrill was a romantic interest for females and males in DA2.  I like Merrill and my Hawke usually ends up with her, but then I thought about three things...

1) In the Dragon Age Universe, the average elf has a body structure which is slimmer and more petite than humans.

2) Scientifically, an average human male has more muscle mass and muscle amount than females.

3) Most pairings between the two races that we've seen have been between a human male and a female elf (Maric and Fiona, Feynriel's parents, Lord Hariman and his "feather" elf, and "potentially" Hawke and Merrill, a Female Elven warden with Alistair, and a male human warden with Maker Knows how many female elven prostitutes at the Pearl).

With the above facts in my mind, a question came up that may or may not be perverted...

Wouldn't "intercourse" be really uncomfortable for one or both of them?

The question may not apply as much to human female/elven male relationships since they'd be reasonably close in body structure anyway.  But I'm not an expert on biology...

Thoughts? (Preferably mature answers and thoughts, relevantly funny answers and thoughts are good too)

Anywho... I don't think elves are that much different from humans. There are people that are naturally skinny in which you can wrap and feel your arms around their waist. There are little people who have very tall partners.

Height may be a problem for humans and dwarf couplings, but elves aren't really that much different than humans. They're a bit shorter and skinnier, but I'm pretty sure tall men can date short women in RL, and vice versa.

Besides, Merrill probably has a higher Constitution score than most Hawkes because she's a blood mage.  The girl is pretty tough.

In real life, humans have significant variation in height and weight. More than what is seen in DA between elves and humans. And yet we manage.

For the record Fisto, this was intended as more of a health question than a perverted one.

Ever heard of 2 guys, 1 horse?  One of the guys died because something on the horse was placed where it was not designed to go.  That's because horses are meant to copopulate with other horses, just like real-life humans are designed to copopulate with other humans.

Yes, elves and humans have a lot of similarities that allow for interracial copopulation and successful offspring (even if they are basically human).  I was just wondering if potential discomfort could lead to/indicate something more threatening.

May or may NOT?

Anyway, I suggest you test this assumption by (numbered list time)

1.  Find a couple that consists of a big burly dude and a tiny petite female.
2.  Ask them if they find intercourse "uncomfortable"
3.  Go to the hospital to have your cell phone retrieved from one of your private orifices.

Might be advisable to go to this interview having pre-lubed the orifice, by the way.  Anyway, a woman can fit an ENTIRE BABY through there.  Sheesh.
