If I fail to persuade the Reverend Mother to release him, is there a way to do so without threatening her? Trying to play through as a semi-decent person, and seeing as how she's been nice to me, I want to be nice to her. Thanks for any and all help. =)

Heh, wish I had known that earlier. I had to resort to threatening her. Alistair was not happy. Ah well, I'm a Dalish this time around... Can't expect me to always have patience with the Chantry.
