Tactical Cloak should have been something completely different in the first place (namely an actual Cloak rather than a massive Damage Boost in all but name), but what's done is done and it's not important enough to bother with this late in the game, just get over it and move on.

Butthurt unleashed. I don't agree. It's fine the way it is. Besides, not every player knows how to fully utilize every loophole tactical cloak offers. I say bravo to those who do, let them have their power.
I also think tactical cloak isn't exactly a right name for it. More like 'damage and cooldown boost' or something, since most enemies keep firing at you whether you're cloaked or not. That kind of takes away the tactical advantage it should give you. The only tactical thing about is how you can avoid cooldown issues.
Of course, what do I know?

I would have agreed with you on weight but I remember someone mentioning to me a while back when I first brought up this argument that all weapons that are fully intended for infiltrators are also the heaviest, such as the Black Widow, and Javelin. Nerfing the cooldown time would ultimately lead to less snipers, and more shotgun infiltrators.

In regards to the extra damage I can definitely understand the feelings towards it being over powered because that is a hefty amount for only a 4th rank, but having you choose between utility or damage I think was enough of a curb to this portion of the power.

I think the negative opinions of TC come from classes that take full advantage of the power. Such as the MQI, GI, and now TGI. Unfortunately because their powers are cross classes it is impossible for them to recieve a nerf without either a patch or harming the other class. In the long run it just doesn't seem worth it.

1. Infiltrators can get an 80% additive weapon damage bonus. They can also get a 40% multiplicative damage bonus on top of that with sniper rifles. The second best any other class can get is a 70% additive bonus for longer duration with Adrenaline Rush.

2. Infiltrators can get an 80% additive power damage bonus. No other class can come close to that.

3. Infiltrators can get a 130% additive melee damage bonus.  Not even a raging Krogan can match that.

4. Infiltrators can carry two super heavy guns and still have all their powers on a 3 second cooldown by ending cloak as soon as it is cast. No other class can even come close to carrying as much weaponry and not worrying about cooldowns.

If you think Tactical Cloak is fine as is, please explain why. I think it is unacceptable for the Infiltrator to completely outclass everything else in FOUR categories.

I'm not sure what you mean by this but I have a simple and easy way to change tactical cloak:

When cloak is activated, it turns off power usage. That way players cannot substitute other cooldown's for tactical cloak's cooldown. But you can still be able to use other powers with tactical cloak activated if you choose the bonus power evolution.

There isn't a power that does that.  You can't have both Shield Restore and the ability to cast in the same build.


You're right, with the major neglect of the bannerless OG humans, I forget about their powers sometimes. Still, Marksman and AR can more than keep up with TC in the damage department.

Besides the reload cancel you can do with the power, its not all powerful.

Your cloak drops off a bit once you fire a shot and on higher difficulties and more advanced enemies can still find you cloaked. Not to mention you have to keep recasting. Meanwhile sentianls, krogans, and batarians get a constant passive.
And as for beating the score board on a team work based multiplayer , any good player can beat someone that's using something op. Though the score is never seen after that round

Sure, nerf TC as long as all soldiers have 250 base shields and biotic charge doesn't recover shields or barriers, i'm fine with that. I think killing those 3 classes will finally shut the entire lot or nerfers up (after much moaning)

You say that TC is the ultimate power, have you played the Valkyrie lately? Double debuff, double dot, armor weakening and damage buff and a BE just by running by and throwing warp. Add warp rounds 4 to your gun and you do 120% more damage to the target that you just double debuffed, double DOTed and BE. Bioware got it right with infiltrators, the valkyrie and a few other kits. Their powers actually work in synergy with one another and weapons. The focus of balance changes should be on trying to fix kits that don't perform well, like the saboteur.

I'd argue that the change to tact cloak has done enough already. One reason the change was originally made so people couldn't run around soloing objectives as an infiltrator anymore. It was changed to encourage teamwork. Teamwork in co-op multiplayer, what a novel idea.
