I always find it amusing when someone suggests TC's cooldown mechanics change to that of all the other powers. Watch as everyone stops using SRs and sticks to the Wraith, Talon, Harrier and Piranha.

Half the characters in the game are at the same level of durability as Infiltrators, and they all don't have something that drops aggro(in theory, anyway).


The only thing I'll say about that is that while cloaked, since shield regen stops, they ARE less durable. Normally cloaking obviously negates this issue, but if you're doing an escort, or someone is near you and you're getting hit by crossfire, the durability can be an issue.

Why do people complain about **** like this? DUDE ITS A CO OP GAME! Its not COD! If you think its "OP" or just dont like it well simple... Dont play the Infiltrator class and dont team up with infiltrators there problem solved. This is just stupid how people complain about retarded crap like this.

I mean I would understand if it was a PVP game or a game like COD where I would totally understand how Cloak would be "OP" but the thing is ITS NOT! And if it causes SO much problems to you and to you enjoying the game well like I said DONOT PLAY INFILTRATOR and refuse to group up with them. That way you wont have to put up with such OPness!

People complain and cry to dam much over stupid **** like that. Trying to get "Balance" changes and get what if all this crap were to get "Balanced" for every person ****ing the game will just be so broken and unbalanced probably unplayable.

Who cares if the Harrier does such and such DPS who cares if people farm credits on a box in rio (That IMO just means they suck) who cares if one class is stronger than the other? You can pick and choose what to play as and who to play with and how to play. If you arent the type of player that hides in a box to get through platinum in rio I dont see how you would go about complaining about that subject. I mean I dont and it doesent bother me one bit that people do it. Same with weapons I have all my weapons to level 10 and people complain about Harrier so much yet dont take in consideration how hard or time consuming it is to get all those weapons like that leveled to X they just care about "I DONT HAVE IT YOU CANT HAVE IT" mentality.

IMO if you dont like cloak. Dont play infiltrator that simple. I would actually like it to be buffed considering that some mobs in game like "Hunters" can run cloaked through the whole map till last second. But it is what it is.

Just play the game and stop complaining about stupid crap like this. How about complain about the loading times and how it takes you to the main menu and then through all that to join a game (from a friend request) why not complain about the game dropping connections? Stuff that actually matters and directly affects gameplay?

I for one would LOVE to spend less time on the "Loading screen" and more time fighting and I am sure many others would too. And I am sure many others think that the whole joining a game process is kinda re re. And OFC people glitching missles and stuff like that should NEVER be allowed. Stuff like this would affect everyone. But complaining about "OMGAH MY GUN LESS PEW PEW YOURS MORE PEW PEW!" or "OMGAH THIS class IS OP QQ NERF IT" or even "I SUX @ PLAYING THAT class AND I WISH I COULD DO WHAT THIS GUY IS DOING BUT CANT SO SINCE I CANT NERF IT NAO!"

-_______- Stop complaining and just play the dam game!!!! Maybe if people spend less time here complaining and more time playing they would already have all the guns maxed and all gear maxed. But no much like the noobs that dont know how to do bronze and silver that queu up on gold and plat people want it THEIR way with less effort possible.

 The simple solution is play how you want, on whatever map and difficulty you want; don't get upset when you get kicked; don't worry about your personal score; and play as a good teammate. 
Oh! And always smile :) because it makes the game just that much better!!

Each class has its role in the game.

Soldiers have the best sustained DPS in the Game
Adepts are there for biotic combos
Sentinels are great at Tanking and Debuffing
Engineers are great for Tech Combos
Infiltrators are there for burst DPS

I'd cancel AR all the time if the game let me and it started the cooldown early.

Free reload + Claymore(with one shot being boosted in damage) would be far more valuable than a sustained 70% damage increase. It would make Infiltrators look underpowered.

Also every Soldier but the Quarian Marksman can out-tank the Human Sentinel. I'd hardly call the majority of that class tanks anymore. The Vanguards have replaced them.


It would be nice to get that free reload.

I agree on the Human Sentinel, which is why I haven't used it in four months.  But in fairness to me, they are more tanky than the adepts that they are comperable too power-wise. I mentioned tanking for the Vanguards as well, and I feel the comparison is valid.

Oh yeah, one more thing about your changes. If SRs are underwjelming, buff SRs and not Cloak. The +25% Sniper damage evolution is multiplicative, not additive which is what makes it so powerful.

I'm also opposed to the idea that "infiltrators should be snipers". That can lead to issues where (similar to launch) SRs weren't very good on nom-infils and borderline OP on infiltrators.

I'm not opposed to TC changes but I think there are better ways to go about this.

I actually spec AR for Melee Damage at rank 5 just to shorten the duration for more free reloads(we found a while ago messing around on speed runs with Human Soldiers that this does more damage over the course of a game with the Claymore).

Fair enough they are more durable than the Adept/Engineer/Infiltrator. I mostly see durability as Vanguards > Soldiers/Sentinels > Everybody else with a few breaking out of their class like the TGI being higher or Quarian Marksman being lower.

Let's look at what it gives:

1. A damage boost ranging from 40%-105% (80% if not using a sniper rifle)
2. Partial invisibility for a duration ranging from 4-11.2 seconds.
3. The ability to cancel any other power cooldowns and disregard weight.

That's the ultimate power. And it's ONE power. 

Here are my proposed changes:

Remove the scaling cooldown based on time spent in cloak. Tactical Cloak should have a static cooldown, changing based on how you spec it and your weapon weight, like every other power. Infiltrators currently can ignore the only downside of using powerful weapons.

Reduce the damage bonus increase evolution on Rank 4 to 30%, and increase the sniper rifle damage bonus evolution to 40%. That way, using a sniper rifle is actually worth the extra damage, and infiltrators can become snipers again.

Now go ahead. Unleash your butthurt.

The only thing that needs to be done about tactical cloak is to moderateky boost the base weapon damage bonus of classes that don't have it.

If TC was so brilliant, then, as an exclusive PUG player, I'd see Infiltrators all the time. I don't. So, either Infiltrators aren't all that great, or NO ONE CARES!

More powers should use a scaling cooldown.

The scaling cooldown is a well designed game mechanic. It gives the player a choice to make even after they have activated the power, which makes it both interesting to use and more fun.

Also, I disagree that Tac Cloak is OP. At the very minimum the Drell Adept, Fury, Batslasher, Human Soldier, Turian Soldier, Paladin, Slayer, Asguard, and Drellguard are all certainly capable of just as much damage output as your average Infiltrator.

I do not feel it was overpowered. I think less actually. Maybe for a sniper. I dont see much weapon /power damage with biotic or an auto-fire weapon when it's better off with using the gears. maybe I'm doing it wrong.

There is no cloak thread where we don't get to hear the plight of Cyonan's poor Quarian Infiltrator.
