I completed these three DLC already but only after i had finished the game. I started a new game yesterday and was wondering what would be the recommended time (when it better fits the story) to do each of these DLCs. I am thinking that maybe doing From Ashes as soon as possible (perhaps after the first Citadel mission) would be a good idea (I want to play with Javik on my team to see what he adds to the different missions).

Not sure about Omega and Leviathan, any ideas? Perhaps Omega could be done right after I get the three armies/war assets from Aria?

In what order do you play them and at what point in the story?

Thanks in advance,

Do From Ashes as soon as you can but AFTER Palaven. Leviathan before Thessia and Omega when you said so.

From Ashes should be played after you go to Palavens moon, and before Grissom Academy.

Omega should be played immediately after Cerberus coup attempt on the Citadel

Leviathan should be started anytime after the Citadel raid, but should not be COMPLETED until AFTER Thessia.....otherwise, the Prothean VI will be telling you crap you already know.

Omega immediately after Thessia - kick Cerberus back in the balls and headcanon that Petrovsky gives up the location of Cronos.

I keep trying to postpone From Ashes so I could maybe take other squadmates along, but Javik is too cool to pass up.

Not sure where you'd put Leviathan.

From Ashes:right after Palaven
Omega: After Cerberus Coup. Striking back at cerberus fits well.
Leviathan:After Rannoch, except for Despoina(last mission) that you should do after Thessia since Leviathan and Shepard will talk about the crucible.

From Ashes: After Citadel Coup-So can take VS
Leviathan, Completed after Thessia-avoid redundancy from Prothean VI
Omega: pre-Citadel Coup:-Justify such a reckless action on Cerberus' part

From Ashes: After dropping off the Virmire Survivor at the hospital, and before Palaven. Javik sits Palaven out, but after that, he's available for any mission. In-game, you can justify it as not wanting Cerberus to gain control over a valuable Prothean artifact so you go to Eden Prime right away.

Leviathan: I think a good place to do this would be after Thessia or Sanctuary. At this point Shepard is pretty desperate and is willing to look into anything that might have the galaxy gain some sort of advantage over the Reapers.

Omega: I do this after the Citadel Coup. I think it fits well because Omega is always described as sort of a 'dark' Citadel. Cerberus tries to throw you out, so you throw them out. After the coup Cerberus has shown how dangerous they are, so it makes sense to take out one of their largest centers of operations.

I usually recruit Javik shortly after Palaven, but I hear it is worth bringing the VS to that mission. Leviathan is best done after Rannoch, and Omega seems to fit anywhere since it's completely self-contained. I think it's best to do Omega post-coup.

from ashes I always do it after the coup when my ems is at 3000 or hgher because Javik says to femshep "you believe you are winning"

Omega after doing fetch quests for Aria

Levi can be started anytime after Palaven and finished at anytime before Cronos

I agree with most of the posts. I just did a fresh run where I did From Ashes right after Palaven and brought EDI for some fun (most interesting dialogue). Did Leviathan up through rescuing Ann Bryson between SurKesh and Tuchanka. Then Omega after the Coup and the final Leviathan mission after Thessia (I just pretend Ann sends a message to meet her then).

This except I usually play Omega after the coup since that's when Cerberus is weakest.

If it matters to you, if you wait to do Leviathan until after you lock in a romance, your LI will react slightly different on at least some of the missions if taken (nothing gamechanging, just a few more concerned/affectionate/etc. type actions).

From Ashes: ASAP (after Palaven).

Leviathan: After Tuchanka and before Thessia.

Omega: Never.

I've actually done "from Ashes" in two separate times right after Palavin/ Manae, and after the Cerberus coup when you have the Vermire survivor back. No difference so would suggest as early as possible. I have only recently played through Omega and I did that after the Cerberus coup as that appears to be a natural point. I have heard and am taking the advice to play Leviathan after the Ardot Yakshi monastery so that the Banshees you run into in are formally introduced. I may wait until after Thessia now.

iakus has an interesting idea though...

I really liked how there was squadmate dialogue with Leviathan. It made the DLC feel integrated to the main game. I hope they bring this aspect back in the next DLC.

Yep.

I'd say do the last mission of Leviathan just after or before Thessia.

I haven't settled Omega into my personal timeline yet (waiting until my next playthrough), but I think after the coup makes sense - Aria is pissed Cerberus made this kind of move AGAIN, and now she's ready to kick them off of Omega.

As for From Ashes and Leviathan, FA I do after Menae, since I know that Javik can't go on the mission to Menae, and I don't see what would realistically stop him from going and trying to kill Reapers after all this time, and Leviathan I generally save until after Sanctuary and right before Cronos Station. It gives a sense of victory to balance out the bitter taste of defeat from Thessia and the horrible experiments at Sanctuary.

From Ashes: Whenever you want, really. I usually go for pre-Tuchunka, but you get some decent dialogue if you save it for later and go with the VS. (At the cost of getting Javik later in the plot.)

Leviathan & Omega: I feel these both fit best into the plot just after Rannoch. Thessia is essentially the Beginning of the End as far as I'm concerned, but you can easily headcanon that the Asari Councillor just hasn't called you yet (or that you're reminiscing times in ME1 and making her wait...)

OP, if you listen to these fools telling you to finish Leviathan before Thessia, you're going to facepalm when you get to the Prothean VI.

Start Leviathan anytime you want....but by all means Do Not complete the third and final mission of Leviathan until AFTER Thessia

....otherwise the VI on Thessia is going to be telling you stuff and speculating on crap that you've already learned from Leviathan.

Leviathan only fits within the narrative if its completed after Thessia

Only vaguely.

The Crucible? Leviathan only says that it has watched the device's construction before and that it has never been completed. That's a hint that the device has been through mutliple cycles, but it doesn't spell it out.

The Catalyst/Intelligence? Leviathan specifies that the Intelligence created the Reapers and is directing things from behind the scenes. Vendetta tells you that the Reapers are probably not controlling the cycle (the Catalyst is) after Liara mentions that they thought the Reapers were in charge. It's not a massive contradiction - maybe Liara just didn't read Shepard's full report.

(Also, I dislike having Shepard and co delaying Sanctuary after Thessia, or Kronos after Sanctuary.)

This.

Leviathan, I prefer to do after the you've locked in with your LI, (If in the squad.) If not, then whenever you feel like it.
