Out of all the masses of self inserts, mary sues, shipping bickering, and otherwise a sea of poorly written wish fullfillment garbage, this was the most tear jerking and emotional story I have ever read

Something that truly captures the sense of "alien" in the mass effect universe, where Turians and Quarians were simply human personalities in different flesh.  You don't even understand that they are mating because the character himself doesn't understand it.

Thank you for linking it. It was an interesting read and the author captured the perspective well. But you did not have to insult all other fanfics out there. There are some pretty damn good ones out there that focus on the other races too. I agree that this 'sea' exists and the reffered to fanfics are aplenty, but not at the same extent as you make it out to be.

The fic was pretty good.

The OP.... not so much.

I point the OP to the epic tale 'Spirit of Redemption' by Myetel. It's got good characters, it's got a gripping story..... the only downside is that most people don't have the attention span for it (3million+ words, each of her chapters contains as many words as some complete fics )
