Reminds me of Alistair in DA2. Red hairs and brown beard.

I'm all for a blond female companion. Just as long as her character isn't entirely about how she's not a dumb blonde, and as long as her eyes are blue and her eyebrows blond.
I don't want a blond default female PC though!Just a blond companion!

Well, Leliana, Oghren (I think) and Isabela were all significantly older than the PCs. And Nathaniel is younger than the Warden Commander. His older brother and sister are the same age as the Warden (give 1, and take 1 year each). I don't know if Delilah is the oldest, or if the other brother is.Rawgrim wrote...

A Meredith`ish companion would be cool, though. So far 95 percent of all the companions in DA games have been people at the same age as the main character.
I miss Wynne.
Wynne was different. She's supposed to be like 80 years old. Anyway, her hair is white/grey, not blond.PsychoBlonde wrote...

You mean Wynne, right? Or did you want to add young and hot and wants to have sex with the PC to those criteria?
I'm all for variety but what's so special about yellow hair?

Blonde? First Bioware would have to get over the fear that everyone would call her a stupid/dumb and accuse her of lacking substance (Anora), and then beware of the Feminist culture if she has a big rack or expresses some sexuality (Isabela). but i digress, Blondes would be WONDERFUL about as wonderful as an attractive black male, who isnt overly buff.
First, of all the complaints people have about Anora, I haven't seen any of them relate to her hair color; second, almost every BioWare character has the same exact model, and the men are always buff. Eamon is just as buff as Alistair. Naked crazed templar in the dungeons is as ripped as Sten.

It's also ironic. And if you're complaining about age, what you want isn't "a blonde", as in, someone with light-colored hair. You want some sort of idealized sex doll who also happens to be blonde.
The Eclipse engine blonde hair looks awful anyway. Maybe Frostbite will be better, we'll see.
I was seriously considering asking him about that (as in, what he meant by it). But it appears you've rendered my curiosity moot. ._.Pzykozis wrote...

But I just find it... "ew," for lack of a better word, to look at brown eyes/brows, coupled with blond hair. Particularly on females.

Well, (getting a little off-topic here) I just find it looks dirty, having blond hair, when the hair has clearly been dyed. It's at it's most unappealing, when the blond and brunette are meshed together. It basically looks fake (or is fake), and I find that off-putting.Dhiro wrote...

Why is it "ew" inducing?

It makes me (morally) sick to my stomach, how in real life, soooo many people (especially caucasians) dye their hair blond. And if there's a character in a video game with the same thing (whether supposedly dyed or not), if feels like it's been dyed. I guess I find hair dye to be unclean and unnatural, and if someone looks dyed, they feel unclean/unnatural. Unnatural in both physical, and personality.

I want a blonde character/companion to feel natural, not made up. The best thing about BioWare's games, is that characters often feel realistic, rather than shallow and poorly written. The characters can reflect in the writers' own abilities, and BioWare is not subpar.

Something wildly inappropriate
OT, I would agree that there is a gender disparity when it comes to the Dragon Age series and characters with blonde hair. Alistair and Zevra were great characters and Alistair was vital to the plot yet the important female characters (which it could be argued are zero regardless) are all dark or red haired.
Possibly the designers/writers dislike blondes or see other media or games as having an excess and therefore try to subvert the trend.
Personally, I'm happy to have blondes, brunettes, and red heads in DA3.

I reckon its more saving themselves the trouble of making 'alright' looking blonde hair textures and then having that destroyed by lighthing issues, than it is a finger in the eye of media, dark colours and black hide a multitude of sins.
