Yeah. I've given some examples on page 5 of this thread of blond characters both created by players and in game.

Do these examples support the developers claims that blond textures are "washed out"?

This was strictly in reference to the DA games, since they were created in a different engine than the ME games or SWTOR.

In light of that, you only have seven DA examples. As you said, Anders is reddish. Aveline is DEFINITELY red, not blonde. And I believe the white haired Hawke you posted (if you want to call white hair blond) I believe is from a mod. If not, the hair is still white, not blonde. Just like Wynne was gray haired and not blonde, a character with white hair is not blonde either. Also, I'd consider Allistair slightly red as well.

Which gives us three examples of blonde, yellow haired characters. And the elf DOES look a little washed out, the other is in a tight braid (Anora), which makes it difficult to judge clearly. Which leaves one example of yellow, blonde hair that looks good.

Not trying to make the argument either way, but I feel your evidence was mostly dismissible.

There definitely need to be more in-universe blondes in both DA and ME. Red hair is just soooooooo overused at this point. Definitely more shades of red (I'd call Alistair a strawberry blonde) than blonde. Besides Kahlee Sanders and Conrad Verner, my Shepard is the only blond I know of in the MEverse.

This is a big part of the reason people poo-pooed on the blonde default Shep appearance when it was voted on. But considering she was a readhead before (and considering how crappy she looks now XD) I'm not too broken up about it.

yrp I know, however in game that is not her hair colour... still great photoshop

Actually, iirc from years ago when NWN came out that is original art, not a PS.

I know, half the population of DA and ME seem to be red heads.

DA2 had a lot of blondes - in particular, blue-eyed blondes - but none female in the party.

More combinations than blue eyes on blondes and green eyes on redheads would also be nice. I noticed that when default femShep changed from blonde to redhead, her eye colour changed too. <_<

Leliana has blue eyes to go with her red hair, doesn't she?

Anyway I approve of less red haired characters because it would make my inevitably red haired PC more special.

I saw some images of Aveline.

Some her hair comes across as yellow.
Others orange
Others red.

What's up with the inconsistancy?

Yeah, Aveline is ginger. Red hair and freckles, if she ever appeared blonde, it was lighting effects, not her actual color.

I think Aveline is the only character whose hair colour is actually referenced in dialogue.

Isabela: You have such pretty hair. What a lovely color.
Aveline: Other children used to laugh at me for having ginger hair.
Isabela: Really? Aww. I bet you were cute. Did you have pigtails?
Aveline: Sometimes.
Isabela: How precious! Little Aveline, running around the village with her flaming orange pigtails streaming behind her...
Isabela: ... and little boys all scattering and screaming for mercy as she approached.
Aveline: Shut up, ****.

I prefer darker hair colors.
But I don't really care about the hair color that companions have XD.
I care about the hairstyles though >_<

For DA series, the same could be said about dark haired males. I want a blonde female and a dark haired male as LI in the next game if possible.

Sure, why not.

Also yes, Velanna was hot; even if she was a bit of an a-hole.

Well, (getting a little off-topic here) I just find it looks dirty, having blond hair, when the hair has clearly been dyed. It's at it's most unappealing, when the blond and brunette are meshed together. It basically looks fake (or is fake), and I find that off-putting.

It makes me (morally) sick to my stomach, how in real life, soooo many people (especially caucasians) dye their hair blond. And if there's a character in a video game with the same thing (whether supposedly dyed or not), if feels like it's been dyed. I guess I find hair dye to be unclean and unnatural, and if someone looks dyed, they feel unclean/unnatural. Unnatural in both physical, and personality.

I want a blonde character/companion to feel natural, not made up. The best thing about BioWare's games, is that characters often feel realistic, rather than shallow and poorly written. The characters can reflect in the writers' own abilities, and BioWare is not subpar.

This explains your dislike of dark eyebrows, but not dark eyes. What does having brown eyes paired with blonde hair have to do with looking 'unclean' or  'unnatural'?

Do you know how many causcasins dye their hair blond? Millions. Especialy in America, Britain and Austarlia. And most of them have brown eyes and brown hair/eyebrows. It's just so, passé!
