It use to be lighter, but as you age, your hair becomes darker. Usually anyways.
I was either thinking about going darker to bring out my green eyes or go to light blond. I'm indecisive.

You'd be surprised. Tons of people with that opinion came out of the woodwork when Blonde FemShep won the poll by thousands of votes. It was disgusting how much stereotyping was done.

Meh! Blondes never did much for me. I'd much rather like to see some non European looking characters. IMO Isabella's beautiful exotic looks are one of her few redeeming qualities.

Honestly, there should be more men and women of exotic backgrounds and color in the game to begin with.

Well, if the archer has a cool demeanor, then blonde would fit.  (Not to say that I think blondes are cold anymore thant I think blondes are stupid)

In humans in Mass Effect it kind of makes sense given the setting, too. I mean, yeah, there's genetic manipulation and hair dye, but naturally blonde hair has become rare by the twenty-second century because it's a genetically recessive trait.

first of all Bioware needs to learn how to make digital hair. then they can color it.
i'm not saying its easy but they don't even try (with few exceptions here and there).

just look at EVE .. and i mean just the hair.

Science has proven that the way Bioware handled that was actually very much incorrect, but they established that in the setting already so its hard to go back and change it. Plus, they didn't need to, we could overlook it.

Admittedly, I was happy when default FemShep in ME3 turned out to be a redhead, but that's because I'm a ginger and I'm biased!

But now that I feel my badass redhead default character has been done, I'm completely for a badass blonde for default female in DA3. Sign me up!

And I wouldn't pay attention to the people who say that hair color reflects intelligence. No one with any real brains actually thinks that, so if someone says that either they're not too bright or they're just jealous.

So yes, I'm all aboard the blonde train! Of course, my want for a blonde is nothing compared to my desire to see a non-Caucasian female default character. It's time for that, and everyone knows it.
