My apologies if this is not the perfect forum to post it, but it's not exactly a technical issue, I would just like to ask a few questions about the latest DA:O patches.

I've heard that the patch 1.05 might break some of the mods. After months of playing, I've gathered quite a few and thus I'm somewhat worried. Not so much about various cosmetic mods, although I wouldn't be happy about ruining them either, but I'm more concerned about various (dialogue) fixes I have, such as Morrigan Restoration Patch, Zevran Dialogue Fix etc. I'm considering Improved Romance Scenes for one of my future playthroughs, which also fixes some of the dialogues. I'm aware of the compatibility issues among the mods, but what about the 1.05 patch?
I've actually noticed some of the dialogues do not work as they should after patching to 1.05, which I had never experienced before: An NPC gives an incorrect line or might even give two lines at the same time. It is very rare, but it still bothers me, especially since I did not have this issue before, having all those mods.

Another thing is that I do not get approval upon meeting a certain blonde companion in Ostagar which I always used to get before. I've heard this comes with 1.05, too. I'm not an approval hog or anything, but I wonder whether it's broken or whether it has truly only been "fixed" with 1.05. In case, are there any more "fixes" such as this one?

Finally, in case I needed to go back to 1.04 from 1.05, is there a way to do it without having to uninstall the whole game? I thought of deleting the patch folder in my installation folder, but I'm not sure whether the patch does not put any ninja files into the other folders.

If you managed to get up to this point, thank you for reading!

Patch 1.05 is (supposedly) only to fix DLC authentication and lag issues (if you encountered those lags especially in combat: well they were bad!) .... if a mod is good for 1.04 it should be unaffected by 1.05.
In general its a good idea to remove your mods, patch, then restore your mods. Its still a good step to remove and re-add them even now: this may resolve the issues you have mentioned.
There is always a debate of installing a mod (DAZIP) or choosing to place them in the overrides (or in some combination).

As for reverting, no simple method has been provided. While it's possible, you would have to considerable knowledge of the windows registry and the DAO installation (its more than just the replacement of files). I do not suggest installing 1.04 back over 1.05; if you must, its a re-install of DAO then patch.
Good luck!

I have no idea what 'blonde companion' you are talking about unless it is Alistair. His approval is dependent upon your responses in the conversation. I don't know if it varies by Origin, or just by response.

As Jeffonl1 said, 1.05 was supposed to fix DLC authentication and lag issues. Your conversation lines sound more like conflicting mods. Some of the dialogue fixes involve 'fixes' to the same files so you have to be careful to avoid conflicts. The act of installing the patch may mean that you need reinstall some of your mods, but I didn't have that issue and I have a LOT of mods installed!

Yes, that's why I'm quite baffled about the information I've found. Since my trouble started after installing the patch, I suspected it might be true.

I'll try reinstalling the mods to see what happens, as you suggest. I'm now not sure whether I patched the game before or after adding the mods, but the former seems more logical, so that's probably what I would normally do.

Ah, yes. Some mods do come only in dazips, unfortunately. I find it more messy. I prefer having everything in the override folder. With dazip I have no control over what I want to install, too. Other mods, on the other hand, have no DAzips at all, so you eventually end up combining them whether you want it or not. Eh, that will be fun.

Thank you for suggestions!

@MerAnne
Of course I'm talking about Alistair. I'm not sure about  how much I'm allowed to give away in a no spoilers forum. I've played through the part quite a few times and so I know that the approval differs. I've tried it with the same character two or three times while replaying my canon, in completely the same way. Before patching the game, I always got approval using that character and combination of answers. Now I don't, no matter the character or answers. It's not exactly a problem, but it's strange nevertheless.

I always double-check every mod for possible conflicts and I had them before the issues had started, so it hopefully shouldn't be it. It also happens in places that modders have left untouched as far as I know (Prisoner in Ostagar, Desire Demon in the Tower). But I can look into it again to be sure.
I tried to find more information about the patch before and came across things like this: http://social.biowar.../index/14568137
Is it just a speculation then? However, if you're not experiencing the issue with all the mods you have and also have 1.05, then it's not likely it's caused by the patch, I guess.

Anyway, I'll try to reinstall the mods just to be sure I guess. Thank you for advice!

I've had no problems with 1.05, at least in my mod choices (which are limited I must admit). But I did have a serious issue with lag.
The community fix-it project http://social.biowar...index/7438366/1 has a list of tested modules with 1.05 (buried though)
There's also a nice blog http://social.biowar...736/blog/12959/ with some advice...
