The first platinum match that I purposely went into was U/U and it wound up being Collectors/Glacier Hazard. One guy was missile glitching, the other 2 started threatening to report him, and as a result he stopped shooting anything and just ran around/got downed the entire rest of the match. It was a brutal path to finish the objectives on wave 10, and then we all died on extraction.

I extracted in the only plat game I've stayed in, got plopped into a farming game before the changes about round 4 and made it to extraction with a quarian with an indra 4 and no consummables. I'll have to voluntarily try one soon just to see how badly I get spanked.

You being impatient, not wanting to wait for full lobby. Then you just start, waiting for ppl to join midgame who naturally use no consumables since they dont want to load into rio with them. Now these poor level 1 and 2 dudes who have no clue about anything and are on "RANDOM" for difficulty load into your game. You dont manage to carry them and die.

My first ever plat game was basically four waves of everyone except me constantly dying, me reviving them, running around in utter terror because there were banshees and brutes all over the place, and it eventually wiped in wave 4 after we'd all used our missiles.

Lol reading your experiences i actually feel better now. And generally i do better even with platinum pug-s because i have a mic and i can order people around if i see them doing something stupid.

I'd taken a break for a few months and one of the first games back; seearch for silver->platinum-London-Reapers. I stuck around thinking "Wow, that Destroyer is an amazing kit. The missile's as good as a Cobra".

Jumped In mid-game with no squad, all top notch gear. That made me not quit. Ended up using a bunch of rockets and supplies and everyone who popped in, popped right back out and left me hanging. I only survived a wave and a half but I didn't expect to be thrown in like that. But it happens. Id be furious if I were actually spending real money in the store..

If you didn't shoot anything and died immediately you shouldn't have lost any consumables. No? I know when I quit after dropping into a game, all my consumables are still there.

Platinum with pugs in a nutshell

My worst platinum experience was playing with a TGI who was feeling rather... supercilious to others. He kept complaining the entire match calling everybody lame, and after wave 6 objective, we all got sick of his rant and just commited suicide. He never revived any of us, he just kept going from one ammo box to another. Later on he said how it's been a while he's done a solo. I checked his manifest, and he hasn't even completed solo mastery. He ONLY plays as TGI, although you gotta give him credit for completing every Platinum wave challenge.


Off topic, here's an example of a good pug match - and I'm posting a match result where I had the lowest score (I played as FQI, and used 0 cobras):



I have no idea why pugs are not playing Firebase Dagger. Best time I got in a pug match was 23 mins. And our fourth teammate left on wave 9. Average pug match on FBD lasts 30 mins. Less if there are more snipers in the game.

Dropped into Hazard Ghost/Collectors, pretty much the hardest set up I can think of. It was the end of Wave 8, me and another guy joined at the same time to find one guy all by himself. He only had around 80K, so I'm not sure if he was soloing or other people had dropped out. Anyway, it was horrible and only my second or third Platinum anyway. Then middle of wave 9 a missile glitcher joins and starts one shotting everything. So, pretty lame on many fronts. It was exciting before the missile glitcher got there though.

Everyone else is bleeding out.

Spawn and your body is surrounded, downed before you get control, but might as well have a go...

Gel, get missile out, downed.
Gel, fire missile, but it glitches kills nothing, downed.
Gel (raging now), insta-killed.


But most a just a struggle with under equipped players barely able to play gold...

Getting the Vaguard Glitch on Firebase White while playing as a Demolisher..I floated above LZ lobbing grenades and setting up my Pylon

I had to kill six enemies while doing this on wave 9 when the other three were downed
