I think the thing is with giving warriors crossbows or something similar is that they'd have archery, and sword and board, and two-handed options.
How would the other classes match up?
Archery in Dragon Age: Inquisition(bowstrings confirmed)

warriors and rogues could have different talent trees for archery. one would get damage talents and the other, cc/debuff. a straight up archer would be a warrior, while a rogue archer could use a combo of archery/ melee.

But it's been like this forever. Warriors don't go stealth and don't, let's say, pick locks, they don't heal and don't throw fireballs. But warriors can use all the basic weapon types. No one asks for exotic something, but when templars have archers ( and there are a lot of ranged enemies), while PC warrior is only restricted to sword+shield - it does not make any sense.I think the thing is with giving warriors crossbows or something similar is that they'd have archery, and sword and board, and two-handed options.

I hope they address this missing bowstring and the sheathes. Weapons hanging magically behind one's back really breaks it for me.

Ayep. Animated bows and bowstrings. It's the little things...
Ooooooh, very awesome!
@OP: I loved Archery in both games, I played an exclusively Archer Hawke, I doubt I would have enjoyed the game as much with any other class / weapon.
Random wishlist:
- bow / quiver / arrow customization and upgrades
- special accessory equipment only wearable by archers
- the ability to aim??? - not necessarily as part of the default compat gameplay
- more various animations (shooting an arrow does tend to always look the same)
- final blow animations
- being able to shoot from the back of your horse while riding

Yeah, multiple animations would be nice, but I'm sure thats already taken care of.
