I think something like the archery in dragon's dogma would be nice. Especially the magic archer.

I actually have no idea how Dragon's Dogma did archery. Do enlighten me.

Well I guess it can be said that it would be something like an arcane warrior with a bow and arrow. It's like instead of a staff they use their bow for their magic attacks. The 'arrows' are the spell themselves.  The sound effects used when aiming and releasing arrow also add to the aura of the archery.
Well I hope I was able to enlighten you even a bit. I'm not really good at explaining.:wizard:

Well it helps a little bit. Thanks!

I feel like sniping in Skyrim has poisoned me forever.

This! I wish so much that archery in the DA games could be exactly like it is in Skyrim. Playing an archer in that game was such a blast.

Oh yeah, I think this is needless to say, but lets get more types of bows AND arrows.

Kinda like Skyrim. In Skyrim arrows are their own thing, so you can have a great bow firing terrible arrows, or a terrible bow firing the best arrows. I like that.

It annoys me to have to shoot away expensive arrows.

Need crossbows. I was so jealous of Bianca. How am I going to play my anti magic extremist playthrough without silver bolts, from my extravagant crossbow to purify the wicked and unnatural.

Skyrim got archery down to a tee. I normally never go in for that sort of thing, but it really was almost perfect. Obviously DA3 will give you no where near as much control over the bow, but I'd prefer slower, hard hitting shots to slightly faster shots that barely seem to do much damage.

Yeah, I don't think Dragon Age will ever have archery to the level that Skyrim has, but hey, they can try to come close.

Believe it or not, pointing and shooting a gun takes skill. Quite a bit of it in fact. As does pointing and firing a crossbow.

If it was as easy as you're making it sound, anybody could do it.

But that's the thing, anyone could do it (and fire guns) with a bit a training.

Anyone could do just about anything with a bit of training. Including fire a bow, firearm, or crossbow accurately.

Thats how the world works.

No, there's a big difference.  It took years of specialized training to be an effective longbowmen or knight.  Illiterate peasants could be turned into reasonably effective musketeers and crossbowmen after rudimentary training.

Listen, I'm not arguing that longbows don't take more time, patience, and skill to fire effectively than firearms or crossbows do.

My argument is that its not easy. You don't just pick up a gun or crossbow and shoot accurately. You do have to train, and for quite some time, to be effective. Not as long as with traditional bows of course, but still.

And yes, anyone could do it. Give that illiterate peasant years of specialized training(along with all the bells and whistles that a knight would have) and he or she would(or rather could) be just as effective or a little less so than your average knight.

Thing is, your typical illiterate peasant was never given that opportunity. So *shrugs*

That reloading.

Yeah, that would be hilarious to see before the PC gets absolutely annihilated. Unless the enemy stops to laugh first.

Duke Prosper has a one handed pistol like repeating crossbow. Fighting Hawke he used the other hand to ride his pet Wyvern but Im sure he could dual wield if he chose to.

I believe one of the concept arts from that survey had a Blonde Archer, so who knows.

Personally, I want Leliana back as my Bow girl.

So if Crossbows do make it back for Warriors, would you guys prefer the Crossbows we had in Origins, or repeating crossbows?

My Hawke was always jealous of Bianca.

I really wouldn't see the advantage of an old fashioned Crossbow, when you have oven that can shoot them much faster, and if its like Bianca, can shoot bombs and comes with a bayonet.

I feel like it'll be one or the other if we get Crossbows at all.

They could have an advantage versus disadvantage system with it.

Normal crossbow hits harder, repeating crossbow hits faster. Range differences can be determined, they can make one strong against a certain armor type/enemy type and the other strong against a different one, etc etc.
