Purty...
But damn, that's the first time I've seen that scene from Season 2. God damn... it'd be awesome if we could do similar stuff.
But there's nothing in DA as potent and deadly as wildfire.
Lyrium explosives on the other hand.... well, if we were to fire a flaming arrow in the vicinity of barrels and barrels, we could cause a chain reaction.

Though I imagine it'd make one hell of a scene. If we were about to engage in one big ass war and then our antagonist flies an arrow over to our side, somehow blowing up 40-60% of our forces.
The resulting cutscene would be amazing.

I'd like to feel a bit more involved with it. DA2 archery was a vast improvement on DAO's, but it's still one of my least favourite play-styles, unlike on Skyrim/Oblivion or Dragon's Dogma, where it's my favourite. I realise the combat is more action-oriented, but I really like taking direct control of the bow, rather than clicking and watching.
Well, pretty much all DA combat is clicking and watching, so for archery to be more involved, everything would have to be more involved.
Oi, and by more involved, I take it you mean depending on the player's skill to aim and shoot instead of the game deciding whether you hit or missed.

A few people have mentioned as much, so it must've done something right.

Admittedly, I loved Fable bows, although how you decapitate someone with a bow still beats me. but there is a whole lot of action with Bioware games, but the trade off is we get a lot more player efficiency and story than in those games. I actually disliked Skyrim because of this. I would prefer the action nitty gritty while the story eloquent and full
Yeah, no one's getting decapitated. With archery, I think it'd be cool actually if we saw unique instant deaths(much like how decapitations are handled) say if an arrow headshotted your regular mook enemy.

Crossbows in my opinion should still be open to Rogues. I mean Varric is about as roguish as they come, and it would make little sense if only warriors could use Crossbows. Be like if we said only Rogues should carry a axe, because they need more melee weapons just for them. It might be better to allow all weapons to both classes or keep bows with rogues
Well, we'll see. You are right that Varric is much more roguish than a warrior and as far as DA2 went he was the only one with a form of crossbow, so we'll see what they decide to do.

Pretty much, I like the aiming. I suppose most combat involves clicking and watching, but with melee characters, you have to manuovre more so I don't notice it as much. With an archer you can mostly just stand in the same place unless targetted, and it's not quite as visually interesting as standing in the same place as a mage.

Yeah, you'll be more accurate standing still, but sometimes thats not an option and you're going to do what you can to survive.
I'd LOVE that actually, now that I'm picturing it in-game. That would work wonders to improve archery, just that ability to shoot and move simultaneously alone.

Also, I want NPCs to volley fire at stuff occasionally. That always looks cool.

And yeah, volley fire from archers in enemy ranks would be cool. Shows consistency and good military tactics.

It'd be interesting if they let you shoot your arrows while on the move, kinda like the girl does in the video I posted on page 1, which I'll repost for your convenience.
That would be good along with the general drawing of arrows from the quiver, in addition to the varied stances that are already in DA2.
