And her friend or former LI came back from the dead. And she might be feeling guilty for accusing him/her of ... stuff. And Earth is on fire. And she can't pew pew the Reapers with her assault rifle. And she almost died herself a few days ago. Meh, just a whiny soldier (sarcasm)

That's about it. imo. *shrugs*
as much as i like this scene (i always thought Ash was a more realistic character than Kaiden, who was too cookie cutter)... and having a soldier who puts up a brave face show a moment of weakness is as human as it gets...
i kinda wish the writers would have remembered the way they described the Reaper's tactics and strategy as they were outlined in ME1 over this little tidbit.
