If anyone checked out this guy's manifest... it will bring everything into focus.

This is a general recommended solution, OP:
Common/Uncommon (Silver cards) maxed: Bronze/Silver difficulty
Rares (Gold cards) maxed: Gold difficulty
Platinum is for vets and/or maxed URs

All of this is subject to a person's overall experience/skill within the game. I can play Platinum with a common weapon, but that doesn't mean I should.

Here's my guide to new players:

1.Play bronze/silver until you've got a nest-egg of medi-gels/consumables + max commons with Recruit packs (this will not take long, otherwise you'll be unlocking commons in your PSPs = wasted credits. MAX YOUR COMMON WEAPONS AND CHARS FIRST, Recruit packs are cheap, and guarantee consumables/base human unlocks)
2.Stick to silver for awhile and build a stockpile of consumables with Jumbo Equipment Packs, with the occasional Spectre Pack to quench your desire for better weapons)
3.Max your Uncommons (silver cards), through Vet Packs (1 each gauranteed) or SPs (maxing uncommons will also not take very long if you dedicate to it buying the correct packs)

4. NOW, you can work on Rare cards (Gold cards) and URs (Black cards) with Spectre and Premium Spectre Packs. This, combined with a healthy stockpile of consumables will you be ready for Gold+.

The biggest mistake a new MP player can make it jumping head-first into Gold and thinking they can succeed. You will end up frustrated and blaming the game for your own lack of patience. This isn't Halo or CoD. Its a co-op game with a random number generator for a store.

Check your ADHD at the door and prepare to sink months on end if you want to max your rares and ultrarares. All of us veterans started exactly where you are. Now suck it up, or GTFO.

My question is, who goes out of their way to revive someone on Wave 11? It's one thing if someone drops next to you, its another if you run into fire trying to rez em.

I can't tell you how many times I've gotten lone survivor just because the other three were silly enough to camp extraction the entire time.

I never leave a man behind on Wave 11. Unless they're camping extraction. In that case I go out of my way to let them die.

Doesn't have a single uncommon or rare weapon maxed out. Playing in gold.

/thread.

Move along folks, nothing to see here.

That's the only time I leave them as well. But if there is less than 20 seconds left and the guy goes down across the map from the extraction, I sure ain't hustling over there just to miss out on my bonus. :pinched:

After reading some of the posts........... I am glad I didn't say anything against the game! Man, I am so new, I still got Boot Camp mud on my ****. I have done a couple of Silvers myself.......Secret to surviving, Move and Duck. Nver stand still too long, and know were the nearest cover is. Simple.

Who needs skills?

Friendly advice, the biggest jump in difficulty is from Silver to Gold. Not enough new players realize this.

For the most part people on BSN don't mind offering advice to noobs and most of it is very good. The problem the OP has is his manner of posting. This just invites criticism from the vets here on BSN who love this game. If he asked politely how to go about things, then the comments would've been a bit better.

Sidenote: if you need help, there's loads of people here willingg to help. Find a group. Bronze Effect is a good one for new players :)

I doubt putting a post that ME3 MP "sucks" in a ME3 MP forum is going to get the best response.  They should have either complained to customer service or some other contact, but saying that kind of thing to a bunch of people that overall really really like the game and its MP wasn't the wisest thing.  As Bryan said there will always be certain things that we don't  like or isn't pleasing in any game, but ME3 overall has been an amazing experience.  And most of the people in this forum, even though it is a MP forum, didn't by the game for its MP, but for the experience of finishing commander Shepard's story in single player.  And like myself were probably amazed when they found out just how much time and effort Bioware put in to making the MP experience what it is.  I usually don't play single player story lines more than once, and I would not be playing ME3 anymore if it were not for the excellent experience that they have made the MP into.  I can't think of another MP that I have played that has as challenging and intuitive of an enemy AI than ME3 (one where they can track you after you have cloaked in front of them and make you choose to use a medi-gel or get stomped to keep trying to win).  For some reason I don't think Kaelis really appreciates exactly what he got when he purchased this game.  Well...That is all the ME3 love I'm going to give out today.  I imagine and hope that most of the people on these forums feel similarl to how I do.

The frustration factor is what makes this game just awful and deserving of a prompt uninstall. The only thign stopping me is the single player campaign whcih i want to finish. Just /quit a game after being executed on the ground. I died twice the whole match(Gold), I was score leader (not that I care really), I was helping people up, and I revive someone they go down again, I go in stealthed to revive once more and am targetted and shot dead. And then executed immediately.

I will give you one solid piece of advice Bioware. Sitting there watching instead of playing is not fun. In fact you should do everythign you can to prevent people from just sitting there like that. BTW this was wave 11. And I dont care I lost 100K credits its the principle. Do you know how rare medi gels are? I NEVER have any. With your game play as krappy as it is you ought to be giving these things out like candy. You need to get RID of the executions and at the very least let the timer run out when people are down. That would be a start.

As a new player comign in, your game is utter garbage. I have lost probably 500k or more in creds when I dont want to sit there after beign executed and watch for 5 minutes. Not that it matters, lets be honest people who have been playing from day one were able to rank up weapons much easier. They had a smaller pool initially to rank up....so they have good weapons for each upcoming xpac. Think about what a new person has to do now, gettign a gun to rank 10 or even 3 is a chore becaus you can get so many different guns.

I don't know I have played a more rage inducing game in my life. Get rid of executions. Put more medigels in the game for gods sake. So you don't get penalzied by getting shot one freaking time with a 5-10 minute wait. I can honestly say I cannot wait to uninstall this krap as soon as possible. The way I see it I have been ripped off 500k creds and a lot of time.

In any case not recomending this to my friends and will not be considering MP play as part of ME4. I certainly hope you separate those completely next time. ME3 mulitplay is probably a fine industry example of what not to do in online shooters.

Listen to this advice, it's true. Bronze to Silver is easy enough, all you need is skill. But the change from Silver to Gold requires at least some resemblence of teamwork (or alternatively the equivalent of at least three skillgates if you want to just lone wolf it). And the progression from Gold to Platinum simply requires moar dakka (aka DPS is the only important thing aside from staying alive to apply that moar dakka).

Silver -> Gold = THE difficulty shock

I have ranted to nausea.. so I will make this brief... although I hear what you are saying... we both know you are not going anywhere... you will get over it, and start to play again, and forget that this event happens, until the next time, in which you will post again angrily, and start the cycle again...

yes, this is the cycle of ME3 MP... get over it, and start popping heads of phantoms.

It is interesting quite how much solidarity this thread has generated.

Most of the threads do fixate about much the same things:

1. The RNG
2. Buff the weapons
3. Nerf the weapons
4. When's the next DLC?
5. Funny/annoying PUGs
6. class builds
7. Quarian jiggly-bum (and so on)

But when it comes down to it, it's a great game - few other games enjoyably consume hundreds of play hours - and the OP probably wound a few people up by the tone of their post.

However, there is also some great advice in this thread for more recent players and I've certainly seen more of those these last few weeks, which is a good thing.

Would you like some Johnsons and Johnsons no more tears. L2P. Gold is not ment for the noobs, but it seems like every other player out there you think your good enough to jump right in. After a look at the manifest of yours, and reading this....jumping in here ranting ME3 MP sucks, well is just not a wise idea. Yes a good portion of us here have some issues with the game, and they are well known issues, but all and all, everything this game is, even I got to say is not bad at all, with all things considering. Take a nap, go have a smoke, find a good group on here, I believe it was mentioned already. find good team mates take advice and you will eventually get better equipment. As for it being easier for people getting maxed manifests who played since day 1. Not everyone had such luck, the JEPs and PSPs were not available permenantly like they are now. I for one knew that in order to do well and stay alive I would need equipment, so often I got packs and not so much weapons as my skill increased I purchased weapons packs, and eventually I got it all maxed. Communication is also good to have with team mates. knowing what classes work well together is great, knowing what weapons go well on classes is great. so much to learn, yet everyone wants it all right off the bat. Greed is over powering...

Ha! That's certainly true.

OP, while I feel your pain (the game can be INCREDIBLY frustrating), keep in mind that for a first try at MP, especially with the incredible amount of content they've released for it, this is a great game. Does it need some refinements? Sure. Can it be unfair at times? Yeah, but then again, so can most games. The bottom line is, you won't get an experience like this anywhere else, so Bioware deserves respect and appreciation for that.

If you DO want to complain still, that's your right, but you might want to limit it to constructive criticism, so that the devs can use it to improve this game or the next one.

In this guys defense, I can not imagine anyone who is new getting in to this game. To me the store is too cumbersome for newbies, and it is unreasonable to expect someone to spend 700+ hours to max out a manifest on a 10 month old game. My PS3 friends are talking about making the switch from BL2 to this game, I can't recommend it to them because of the store.

The gameplay is fun independent of the store. Maxing your manifest should not be the reason for playing...
