The sad part is that everyone flaming the OP doesn't get it.
BW needs new players to keep this going, we've lost people to all the other new games out.
The last thing any of us need to do is insult someone giving an honest opinion, it's those that BW needs to pay attention to, not us still gaming after nine months, they've got our loyalty and our money.

If anything we should be teaching the new people how to best perform, which combinations work, what weapons work, not flaming and insulting them. The game must be frustrating to a new player, all these weapons/characters/powers, pack choices, the sheer size of the draw pool must be daunting to them.

I will say this, everyone insulting him should zip it and just get off the boards, this kind of crap happened in SWTOR and it drove people away, bioware needs to reign in some of you.

Nonsense, any reasonable player that is new comer starts out and has a good dose of the training levels such as bronze and silver.  Thid dude said he was a new player and was upset at how gold was going.  This is totally on the instant gratiifcations, I'll play even if i am not ready crowd.  To quit matches because you have gone down is dumb.  this persons thread has ZERO to do with the average new comer.

OP. All you need is an experienced wingman. Simple, join a group. There are plenty going. And remember it is just a game and it should be treated as such. If gold gets you fuming knock it down a level. What's the rush to run at gold level? It's not like its the end of the world or anything...

OP, you're definitely going about this all wrong.

Look, I'm a fairly new player myself. I didn't start playing until the Retaliation DLC came out. I wanted to max out my manifest too.

But the thing is, new players without equipment and gear, who don't know what they are doing, ruin gold matches for others. It isn't fun having to pick up someone constantly because in their rush to unlock the Harrier II, they decided not to purchase any medigel. And you will go down in a gold match, especially to start with.

Max out your common weapons first. Then your uncommons. Then you can start to work on the rare and ultra-rare's. By grinding Bronze and Silver, alternating between JEPs and Veteran Packs, you'll build up a good stock of everything you need in terms of equipment. I don't think I've fallen below 150 of anything - medigel, Cobra missiles, ops packs and especially ammo packs, since early December.

Paying your dues in Bronze and Silver will also get you more used to the game mechanics - how to use soft cover, where spawns are, what builds and loadouts work etc. And because those levels are more forgiving of error, you can even have a fair bit of fun with them.

But seriously, your problems are stemming from going for weapons unlocks and upgrades at the expense of equipment, which is, IMO, far more important. Equipment is what lets you survive to get the credits to get the good weapons.

btw, he can play gold, i don't see the problem

I started to play gold the next day I got the game and I think i even wasn't N7 30.

So, it doesn't matter if all his weapons are at 1 while his characters are at 20.

The frustration factor is what makes this game just awful and deserving of a prompt uninstall. The only thign stopping me is the single player campaign whcih i want to finish. Just /quit a game after being executed on the ground. I died twice the whole match(Gold), I was score leader (not that I care really), I was helping people up, and I revive someone they go down again, I go in stealthed to revive once more and am targetted and shot dead. And then executed immediately.

I will give you one solid piece of advice Bioware. Sitting there watching instead of playing is not fun. In fact you should do everythign you can to prevent people from just sitting there like that. BTW this was wave 11. And I dont care I lost 100K credits its the principle. Do you know how rare medi gels are? I NEVER have any. With your game play as krappy as it is you ought to be giving these things out like candy. You need to get RID of the executions and at the very least let the timer run out when people are down. That would be a start.

As a new player comign in, your game is utter garbage. I have lost probably 500k or more in creds when I dont want to sit there after beign executed and watch for 5 minutes. Not that it matters, lets be honest people who have been playing from day one were able to rank up weapons much easier. They had a smaller pool initially to rank up....so they have good weapons for each upcoming xpac. Think about what a new person has to do now, gettign a gun to rank 10 or even 3 is a chore becaus you can get so many different guns.

I don't know I have played a more rage inducing game in my life. Get rid of executions. Put more medigels in the game for gods sake. So you don't get penalzied by getting shot one freaking time with a 5-10 minute wait. I can honestly say I cannot wait to uninstall this krap as soon as possible. The way I see it I have been ripped off 500k creds and a lot of time.

In any case not recomending this to my friends and will not be considering MP play as part of ME4. I certainly hope you separate those completely next time. ME3 mulitplay is probably a fine industry example of what not to do in online shooters.

After playing Diablo 3, TERA, Rift, WoW Cata/Panda, and Halo 4... what made me return to Mass Effect 3 WAS and IS the multiplayer. It's unlike anything else out there, and it rocks major ass.

I'll admit, OP, I used to be the gamer who raged a lot. Pounded my fist on my desk or my keyboard. A few years ago to be precise. Then I decided one day that being angry wasn't a lot of fun, and my friends sure didn't think it was fun to be around me when I was. All that being said, if you're raging at a game, don't play it or learn how to not rage. It's just a game.

No game is perfect, every game has its flaws and errors, and to your credit there are always players who are pathologically convinced that the game they're playing and posting about is absolute garbage.

I would take the time to point out the flaws in your gameplay, and why you'd died so often trying to do the right thing. That probably wouldn't win you over, though. I doubt any argument will.

To end on a positive note, however, I will point out that most of us here (in the ME3 MP BSN) are not the kind of players to up and give up after we've suffered a few defeats.
We calm down. We learn. We strive to get better. We practice how to die less, and kill more. We learn the usefulness of teamwork, and the fruitlessness of mindless zerging.

I have to say, I didn't come into this thread with high hopes nor good intentions. However, I agree with your point. I HATE the stomp mechanic and think it should be removed.

Still don't like the thread though.

Dunvi, I agree you don't need Gold wepons. Frankly, we both know many of them have be nerfed to the point they are more useless than some of the silver, and commons, but placebo effect.

And how many exactly ? Krysae and falcon ?

*Ladder* <----- here you go.
now get down from that tree you climbed on.

1. starting to play you need some bronze and silver matches to got some decent gear and learn the game DO& Don'ts.
2. JEP - > 33k per pack got 5 of everything + 5 random stuff.
3. if you die on last wave but still stayed there until the post game lobby you still get the money.
4. I only play this game for the multiplayer as single player sucks.

You have just over 80 hours of game time, a rank equivalent to a 3rd grader and you presume to play at a level well in advance of your own skills, and you have the nerve to come in here and tell all of us who like / love MP that it's the GAME that sucks?

Just out of curiosity - do you have any objections to the wheel or would you like them to reinvent that just for you, too?

I began playing platinum the second it came out and stayed there for months. When platinum first came out, all my friends which are way better than me at this game, hated platinum. They were getting mualed left and right like a bunch of noobs.  But in gold, they were gods. I stuck to platinum. They eventually came over to platinum and conquered that like they never had a problem with it.

I'm a decent player. I was never amazing but I could survive well enough on any map and enemy in platinum to not be a total dead weight, not a speed runner though.

I've gone back to bronze since about 2 or 3 months ago. Everything that has pissed me off about this game since day one is greatly amplified in just puny silver. While on bronze, I can play any character or weapon in peace without being tortured nearly a much as on higher difficulties, and the matches are faster.  I know Bronze is easy as pie, even a bit of a snooze.  But the cheating is much less rampant on bronze.  I'm talking about the enemies.

All the shackles are looser on bronze.  I'm talking about the narrow fov, the stupid character hogging the screen, the stupid one button with three different functions, the stupid sticky cover, .............................

I don't need the credits anymore as I maxed my manifest in July and simply kept pace afterwards. But, if I play on higher difficulties, I have to use gear.  Not necessarily to survive, although with some pugs you do, but to not be too much of a drag on my friends.  We don't speed run but we don't want to take forever either. But then I run out of my favorite gear so I'm back on the godddamn credit treadmill getting trolled by the casino(store). I spent a million credits the other day just for a ****ing measly respec card! A. ****ing. Respec. Card. 1mil Credits. Go rot in hell EAware.

If I had known months ago what I know now, I would have considered my manifest maxed the second I got Batarians and Graal as that's my fav stuff in this game. Hell, after this weekend's challenge, I might just go back to playing humans and common weapons and consider that all you really need.

The skinner box is a state of mind. Think outside the box if you want to get out of it.

Usually I hate threads where people pile on n00bs, but in this case... you kinda had it coming, OP.

Look - we all suck when we start out. I'm glad you think you can do awesome at Gold, but it really isn't that big of a deal to learn the mechanics of the game on Bronze or Silver. I played at Bronze exclusively for the first couple of months (and I started playing MP later, too - not until August or so did I play matches for anything other than to boost my EMS for SP). Now I almost exclusively play Silver, but it's pretty easy for me, so I've been going into Gold here and there. But playing Gold is more about strategy than "omg kill all teh enemiez" - you have to take advantage of power chaining, ammo/weapon/equipment gear, and you have to know intuitively how to use cover, how to kite enemies, and how to manage waves. If you don't know how to do any of those things, that's fine - most new players don't. But hang around Silver until you do, because otherwise, yeah, you're going to get wiped out on Gold a lot.

And I'm sorry, but I have zero pity for the "500k" of credits you lost because you ragequit. Ragequitters don't DESERVE any credits. Honestly, the fact that you're apparently a habitual ragequitter gives me doubt that you have the patience to figure out how to be good at this game, but really, if you are interested, take a deep breath, drink some tea, and then go play a few rounds of Bronze. If you still hate it, fine, uninstall. But I'm betting you'll find it more fun if you aren't trying to conquer Gold on day 1 and unlock all your URs.

It's not that you don't have valid complaints. I get your complaint about the manifest - I'm not even close to being maxed, because I started 5 months later than everyone else, but I've still been playing for 5 months. I can't even begin to compete for the Council Operative banner because I don't have four of the characters even unlocked yet. But if you have the patience to realize you're not going to have a Harrier X to stick on your Turian Havoc Soldier or Batarian Vanguard, then you might start to relax and have a little fun.

The ammount of grinding needed when I left the game for ~3 months is enormous.More than half of the rare weapons are underpowered compared to other weapons.

Why do the rare rifles suck?
Why do rare pistols suck unless they are called "acolyte"?
Why is the buffing of useless items buffed so slowly?

Bioware adding so many rare packs made the grinding abnormally big.New players cannot experience the full mass effect multiplayer experience (gold and above) without sacrificing hundreads of hours JUST to max rares.
Increasing the difficulty by adding stronger and more complicated enemies as well as making platinum even harder is not helping either.

The game needs a more credits to be fun,I think +25% credits or more on everything would suffice.
