I enjoyed the game too, loved the zoo and the forest. But pub in the first game starts you right in the centre of it.

"What a weird customer..." <-- best line ever.

The camp delivery was what made it. That and the pure cheese.

Especially given how bad the first was.

If 3 is just as much of an improvement, people better look out.

I did! I completely forgot to mention it. I can also claim the honor of having played the first Two Worlds, so I know just how far Two Worlds 2 has come.

Forsooth!

I played both as well. Never finished the second one, but not because it was bad. I think I'd been about ten hours in... then I bought The Witcher 2.

Someday I'll get back around to finishing it.

Me too. I have it installed and added the Worldmerge mod, which
unifies all maps, including MP ones and the Pirates of the Flying
Fortress Expansion. But just now I´m playing mostly Morrowind
Overhauled.

While I wouldn't call it "great", I enjoyed Silent Hill 4: The Room. I was gutted by the fact that there wasn't a joke ending, but there were some genuinely disturbing and memorable moments.

I know it's diverting slightly off-topic, but I just don't get how the likes of IGN and Gamespot can get it so wrong with reviews so often.

The only answer I can think is that they are nothing but puppets for top gaming companies.

Does anyone here remember the likes of Mean Machines? -

www.meanmachinesmag.co.uk/

It was very rare that they would get a review wrong. i know it was a different era, but the confidence I had in their opinion was 100 times more than in todays games reviewers.

Today's reviewers can't seem to seperate game flaws from a good experience. Just look at how many faults you could pick with DA:O on Xbox 360 - underpar graphics, fiddly controls, poor inventory system, camera a bit dodgy and not as good as the PC version etc. - none of those stop it from being an absolutely amazing experience and possibly the best RPG ever.

What the hell...

Anyway, SH4 was amazing. Creepiest in my opinion. Just something about the ghosts hauntings, the hauntings themselves and the fact someone who was supposed to be dead now wants on sacrifice you.

The long haired ghost, Richard ghost and the baby monster!

No-one finds this creepy?! Also the ghoss are the victims on the sacrifice, your the 21st victim I think. 21 sacraments.
Dead Henry looking through the peep hole, ghost coming out of the wall, 'dead' cat in the fridge and those bloody nurses in the hospital. I love this game, the

In Henry's defense, if I was in his shoes, I'd probably be saying "what the hell" an awful lot too.

The Twin Victims. Just when you thought SH1's school was bad, there's this.

I only heard them say "Receiver" on my second playthrough. Thought that was a nice creepy touch.

Dead Henry looking through the peep hole

...don't remember this. If it's one of the apartment events, I missed a lot of them.

Edit: another game that the rest of the world hated and I liked was the NES game Deadly Towers. Of course, I was quite young and didn't know any better. I'm not sure if I could enjoy this one today.

Alpha Protocol

Really fun game. I wish it got a sequel since AP was really close to being one of the better action RPGs of this gen. With a little stronger plot and some tweaking of skills and abilities (there's useless things like gadgets and then there's boss fights like the one in Russia where you suddenly realize there's no way for my stealth hand-to-hand guy to win this fight these are problems).

But fun game. One I've suggested to friends and family as "Mass Effect 1 meets James Bond". Quite fun.

Nowadays, any game below 90% in MC or review sites is considered a POS. For AAA games I no longer consider the first number, just the ,n. For not AAA, they usually trash them more than they deserve, IGN with European games looks like a big offender to me.

There's just not that many games that score low (and don't deserve it) on review sites, or at least the ones I've seen. Of course, I don't really look that much. On Gamespot, only 3 games out of the last 50 reviewed got a score below 5.0

the three games?
Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified (PS Vita) (2.5)
Tank! Tank! Tank! (WiiU) (4.0)
ZombiU (WiiU) (4.5)

I feel that Resident Evil 6 doesn't deserve the flak that it gets. Sure, there's some parts in it that I absolutely deplore, but I really really like the game overall. The mechanics are a big step up from previous games and the story was pretty interesting. It's everything a sequel should've been...it just could've been done a little better.

Alpha Protocol. One of the most underrated games ever made.

Sure the gameplay kinda sucks, but the characters and the story are great!

That and Mike Thorton is probably one of the most awesome protagonists around. B)

Superman 64.

Great minds think alike eh? I actually came into this thread to post this. The idiots who cite this game as being one of the worst games made clearly don't have the great intellectual capabilities that our minds possess. Indeed there are few who are able to see the true artistic value and triumph behind the game. It plays flawlessly and is a true achievement in gaming but lesser minds are unable to comprehend everything about the game and call the controls "clumsy" and mechanics "abysmal" when they have absolutely no idea what they are talking about.

Superman 64 is for the great thinkers of this age. Anyone else will not be able to understand it all.

Superman 64 aside and I must add these other games:

LoTR: War in The North: Mentioned before in this thread. Actually scored positive reviews too. As an action-RPG it's amazing and has a fun and fluid combat system. The loot in the game could be improved though.

Too Human: The combat is flawed and dying is annoying. Where the game truly shines is with its loot system and the many different armor and weapons to collect and build your character with. I love how the game blended Norse Mythology with sci-fi and allows you to play with guns or swords. Music is amazing too and the story is enjoyable enough.

The Darkness got a relatively low score for its quality, which I felt was more in the 8.75-9.25 range. It's one of my favorite games to date.

You're joking right? From the critic rounded score on Metacritic it's got 81/100 and user scores on shopping/gaming sites for the game are pretty good too. Both review type scores are in the score range you place the game in. You must have stumbled upon some forsaken corner of the web with bad reviews for the game.

Although now that we're mentioning The Darkness, I recommend anyone who hasn't played it to do so.

I loved Mirrors Edge.

Go figure one of the few unique and original IP's from EA and its underrated. It almost makes me think the hatred for EA is unwaranted.... almost.

I never give EA credit on anything they publish, even if the game is from a studio they own.

Naughty Bear wrote...

If the first one wasn't so laughably bad I would've.

I know, but I have heard reasonable reviews about it.

I've played it. It's a solid action-RPG. Oh and it doesn't contain recycled areas like a certain action-RPG...

It actually has some good quality in some parts which are more than you'll find in some "AAA" titles. The board quests for example are often chain-quests with their own story or back-story. There are few fetch quests in this game. Most side quests are highly detailed and I felt that they won't repetitive. Combat is quite fun and plays solidly.

The magic system is rather well done and allows you to craft an almost limitless amount of spells (such as a fire tornado which summons anvils down simultaneously while buffing your character with an ice aura. My personal favorite is a tornado spell I crafted which also summons a death aura at the bottom of it which further harms whoever gets sucked into it and since there's a physic system unlike the first game, you actually see people and items getting lifted up by it although it's not as impressive as the tornado spell from Dragon's Dogma).

Story is okay but I found the side-plot to Chapter 3 to be better than the entire plot of the game...and surprising better than some plots in other games calling themselves "AAA" games. Chapter 3 involves being stuck in the middle of no-where with zombies all-around and there's two choices to be made which greatly influence the rest of the story in this chapter opening up two branching paths with two major consequences which actually impact the land.

Two Worlds 1? Eh okay game if you're up for a laugh. Surprising it gained some hardcore fans who actually didn't like Two Worlds 2 despite the fact that the sequel improved on literally every aspect of the first game. Two Worlds 1 is like a secret guilty pleasure. Two Worlds 2 is vastly superior in everything but there are two other things that should be of note: the wonderful music and the glorious graphics which look better than some games released even recently.

Oh and almost forgot to add my daily attack against Bethesda:

Two Worlds 2: developed by a smaller company, contains nearly as much content as Skyrim and yet is rather lacking in glitches and bugs. Bethesda be ashamed!

Alright. Phew. Nearly forgot to add that but now that I did I can conclude this comment.

Well having after playing it for the past week, Alpha Protocol gets my vote. The variation in dialogue is insane, quite frankly.

I'll be DJing for tonight.  No Rihanna.

Also I did participate, not hatin'.  Go see my orignal post.  But how are games scored in the 70's and 80's not a great game?  Usually anything in the 90's or above is considered a classic.

Again I ask what is considered a low score?  Didn't get a sufficient answer to my query.  This thread has no direction.  Are we talking a game that scored lower than you think it deserved or a game that is scored as a truly bad game and is not?
