This comes from the mouth of someone who was part of the team when these where written as well…
Mass Effect, description of games from Bioware:
Sci-fi role playing game...ME1, an Interactive Storytelling Experience the beginning, middle, and end of an emotional story unlike any other, where the decisions you make completely shape your experience and outcome…ME3
Why should I believe what he says now?

Yeah, no thanks. I found MEHEM to be quite terrible. Alas, this is your opinion and this is mine. But do not attempt to reflect that the entire Mass Effect playerbase deems the existing ending as bad. The majority has most likely accepted it, or gone on with their everyday business.

However, I hope that the next DLCs of the game would have an impact on the existing endings, and, why not, a new solution proposed where Shepard, Geths and EDI alive (not just a breath) and reapers destroyed.
Actualy I had played ME1 and ME2 more than 30 times, really but since ME3 I have a lot of difficulty to replay the journey considering its destination. Sorry Bioware...

I hope but that scene where they spliced the Joker audio and then 'sent' the shuttle to get Shepard with the obvious fan voice over saying "Joker, we got Shepard" just reminded me that it was fan made and not the real thing. I do like it's potential though and I can't thank the creators enough for at least attempting it as it's my understanding that ME3 is very unfriendly when it comes to modding.
What I really hopes come out of it is that other people are inspired to do their own version in which we eventually get something thats professional or at least near-professional grade. Right now there are some great alternate endings on YouTube where if someone could put them into a mod we'd end up with something that would be very special.
Sadly though I'm convinced that right now the only way to get something truly satisfying is for Bioware to make something but right now Bioware is to busy getting in its own way.

To be fair, big guy's lines can even be used without the entire content of MEHEM in place. Something for those who favour vanilla-endings and got the game on PC to consider...
Even so, whatever BW are doing, MEHEM managed to salvage the trilogy for me. And, as mentioned, can only improve with time.

Cannot say that it bothered me overly much. Joker acting in-character served to make the whole scene a lot more...attached to everything than the vanilla-ending sequence. And as far as fan-made VO quality is concerned, it is even quite good. Regardless, MrFob has already mentioned that he may take a peek at the VO's lines again. Thus again proving that this project, which is not even at 1.0-status, can only get so much better in the future.

Yeah, an intelligent fan base.
You do realize that this statement can be turned around to reflect the low intelligence of those who found no issues in the ending, right?

Personally it wasn't the lines themselves it was the actual audio (different volumes for different bits as well as most of them being completely out of sync). However obviously all of this is nitpicking and I can't begin to thank Fob for even taking on this project which I'm 100% sure he does in his free time without pay for nothing more then due to the fact that he loves the Mass Effect universe just as much if not more then a lot of us. I would donate money if I wasn't scared that EA would send a brigade of Lawyers to Fobs house to retrieve it for profitting off their game.
I look forward to what it looks like in the future because as you alluded to it has a ton of potential.

Same here. I have about 5 or 6 Shepards that are like "Okay player we kicked the Collectors back to hell. When do we get to kill the Reapers." To which I tell them the Reapers went to live on a farm and that they're very happy their firing their red lasers all over the place.

The problem is that I really don't have any motivation to play thru the other games again because there's no point. For me, there really is no win and that is what makes me the saddest.
If you can be satisfied with the EC, then I envy you, but unfortunately I can't make myself like something that I don't.

LOL. That is how I handle the thing. Doesn't mean I have to be happy about the situation. Don't worry, I'm not asking you or other bsn'rs to solve my ME3 problems. That's solely on BioWare's shoulders.
However, it is therapeutic to talk to people who share your perspective.
