I loved ME1 but after that it was downhill. With the abomination of the ME3 ending, I have not played any ME game since. I could care less what the EC shows, until they give a happy ending, I'm not picking that game up.

I haven't played any DLC, I don't know what or who the Leviathans are or the ordeal of Omega. Until ME3's ending is fixed, I'm not going to buy anything with that title. No ME4, nothing. But Bioware won't make a happy ending, so my little protest means nothing to them.

I will give Bioware, not the ME franchise, but any other titles of Bioware one more chance. So they either score big with DA3 or bring Jade Empire off the shelf and create a sequel.

But doing their jobs well doesn't fit in with their artistic vision!

It would be good to see something. Help to draw a line under it.

A happy ending wouldn't fix the game for me. Fixing the auto-dialogue, making my choices matter (not replacing them like Udina, Rachni, stand ins for dead characters) and a plot that made sense (mainly Cerberus) would fix this game for me.

I guess I'm one of the only ones who is fine with Shepard dying. I expected it to happen, well to at least be one of many options.

Sometimes soldiers in war....can't get a happy ending, even if the war is over.

in your case, only a complete revanp of the game would help.

the player should have had a say on shepards fate - dragon age style.

you expected your shepard to die - totally ok ... my shepard wanted to return in one piece.

They've made no bones that "decide how it ends" means its my story and I'm going with my original artistic vision, regardless of your delicious tears. /kidding (sorta)

In all seriousness, I don't think they did it maliciously, but the end we have is the end we're getting. Its not a personal insult to you, its the story they wrote.

and sometimes, they get a happy ending - or at least, they survive.

a player can still decide the fate of shepard after he/she survives.

sometimes, the surviving hero, is the most tragic one. this person has to live in the world, he/hse created. in our case, if shepard survives the destroy ending, he/she will have to live with the consequences, that the galactic community is in ruins. the relays are destroyed and it might take centuries and a lot of work to reconnect to a few colonies. the surviving shepard also has to live with the ongoing question, if he/she made the right decision.

this is up to the individual player to decide what happens to a living shepard after the war.

one thing is certain - no ending in mass effect 3 will be happy ... not even the ones where shepard survives and reunites with his/her li. the galaxy is still in ruins and shep had to watch anderson die - either because he could not resist tims influence and pulled the trigger or he/she had to helplessly watch tim execute your mentor.

Diddo, and in DA:O there was consequences to keeping your Warden alive, either the death of an ally, or the creation of OGB just like in ME3 there are consequences to keeping Shep alive.

i can accept it - but the breathe scene is half hearted and very open to interpretation.

in fact, we dont have a say .. the scene is triggered by our ems.

the only way to kill off shepard, is not to play the entire game and miss assets on purpose. and we have people out there, who have promoted 20 mp-chars. they will never get a mid or low ems ending.

dragon age style means to have a choice, that clearly lets shepard live.

My first play through had a happy ending, the reapers got destroyd because Shepad sacraficed himself and the universe was able to rebuild. I can't say how the other endings turn out but this one is happy enough for me

People who want a happy ending make my head hurt. Every story doesn't need a happy ending, and ME doesn't NEED it either. It just should have one that isn't mind-warpingly stupid.

Same could be said in the reverse not every story needs to have a sad ending or make someone feel like they're organs are being ripped apart

That's the wonderful thing about choice-based rpgs.  Multiple endings are possible so a wide array of people can get what they want.  Both happy and sad.

Well, assuming choices actually mean anything...

Few months ago I cared about ME universe but seeing it go down like that, destroyed my interest in the franchise all together and no endings weren't the only thing that contributed towards it, there's bit more to it, but I don't want to re-open old wounds there's no point for me to rage and demand, after this last DLC comes out I will read reviews before I buy it and I'm not making same mistake as with Omega which had so much potential but sadly it all went down the drain, so no matter how BW might praise this DLC it will be last one I buy and no because of reasons mentioned above but I want to end the trilogy on sour note at least and put it to rest.

Only two slight problems with this shepard dies and he or she will never see their love interest again

And basiclly you forced every organic and synthetic to be the same or a hybrid of each other these are the two things that hold it back from being a really good ending

That doesn't seem too bad. Shepard's not exactly an important character. They're just an implement of change in the game.

This game is about tragedy and loss and hard ship the typical happy holly wood ending wouldn't make any sense for this game. The story is one of sacrafice and it's fitting that Shepard dies at the end story wise it just makes the most sense for this game
