There should be an option to pay $300 to buy the entire manifest.

If you spent any money for a full manifest you would quickly regret it. You would be defeating the purpose of the entire game. What would be the point in even playing?

Fun

Don't be ridiciulous.

Video games aren't for fun.

They're serious business.

It all comes down to fun. A serious player tries to be better than everyone else because that is their idea of fun.

I was being sarcastic =P

Though still a valid point.

I'm not saying there wouldn't be any fun, but let's be honest. Part of what keeps people coming back to play is the excitement of unlocking something new and also experiencing your weapons and gear as they level up and get stronger.

If you got everything all at once you would depreve yourself of all of that. I think you would quickly lose interest in the game without it.

'Buying' a whole game would ultimately be shallow and meaningless.

I'll go on vacation for you - you pay for it - tell you what I'll even tell you what a good time you had.

Pointless...

When I complete my Manifest and Challenges, I'll sell you the disks and my ID for $1000
then you can pretend you did it...

Maybe if you don't have all your rares maxed, but when you only have UR weapons to go the RNG is more of a deterrant to continued play IMO.

There are plenty of games where you don't need to unlock things.

I don't need to play 100 hours before Half-Life lets me use the Crossbow, and I consider that to be the best game ever made.

Things you could also do with $300 that would be less of a waste than immediately unlocking all the items in a single somewhat subpar Multiplayer game:

Give it to the next person you see
Give it to the next raccoon you see
Donate it to the Republican Party
Donate it to the Democratic Party
Donate it to a group that actually deserves it
Several months' supply of George Washington-themed toilet paper
That's it! I'm getting a hundred cups of coffee, starting now!

Or, you could be REALLY crazy and spend it on several NEW games and give yourself a more varied gaming experience that lasts longer. But that's only an option for extremists who actually attach some value to their money and time.

Let's just say a PSP has a 10% chance of giving a UR. So 10 packs to get a UR, or $24. Since there are 120 UR cards, this translates to $2,880. Sure there should be a discount for bundling them all together, but 99% off ($300) would be a little too generous

And that's just the UR's.

Seriously though, has bioware ever said anything about the absurd amount of time and or money needed to max your manifest?

Yes, in a way. Right after release they said they are happy with the way they have the store set up and don't foresee any changes to it, ever. I think that's a pretty clear sign that they knew there would be skinner box junkies and gambling addicts spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars on packs for minimal returns, and enjoying it.

TBH I'm okay with that. These people who either lack self control or have too much spare money have helped fund all these free DLCs I've enjoyed.

That'd be only 100 PSPs.
I doubt they'd do that.

$300 is way too much. You barely have to pay a fraction of that if you want all the expansions and a gear unlock pack for Battlefield 3.

Battlefield 3 premium: 49.99 - Includes game + all expansion packs (Karkand, Close Quarters, Armored Kill, Aftermath, End Game)
Battlefield 3 Ultimate Shortcut: 39.99 - Unlocks a substantial (though not complete) amount of weapons and other kit items.

No. The devs have said they don't want this to be a "pay-to-win" game, so it will most likely never happen.

You can't really have a "pay to win" co-op game. Additionally, having good weapons/gear, while being hugely helpful in topping score, won't carry you. I've outscored people with maxed UR's usiing **** weapons myself (Turian soldier with level 1 Argus vs Krosol with level 10 harrier).

Dang, I put in over 200 american at the beginng to catch up (glad I did it...gave me a good start), but even I wouldn't see the point of buying a maxed manifest. Not saying I love the store, but I like playing matches and spending credits in the hopes I'll get something I really want...and I've been pleasently surprised with what I got the last two weeks.

I need some kind of reward.

Bioware should explore every option possible to maximize their profits off this game.

Instead of putting time into the game and playing it way it was designed to be played. You just want pull out your credit card even the odds! I think that's BS. What ever happened to earning your way to the top, instead of buying it.

I'm surprised by how strong feelings are about this. I, for one, do not care about how others choose to spend their money.

I'm not against there being an option to pay for URs, but if they do add a UR pack I'd want it to be obtainable with in-game credits as well.  If they release a pack with a guaranteed UR but the only way to obtain it is to pay $5 for it I'll be kinda upset.
