Why would anyone claim the fans should only be negative about ME3? I'm a fan, and I'll always be a fan. A fan goes either way. Like, or hate. Why the **** should it matter?

I hated the endings, the introduction was bleurgh (I refuse to use words to describe it). The middle was meh, with decent highlights, but failing in the more player involvement of choice and consequence from the previous games and any consequence in selecting one mission over the other (branching consequences) other than pilling up war assets. Rounding off to a deus ex machina style ending, which was pure irony and not in the good way.

Perhaps using more Miranda butt shots would have improved it. Wasn't she a fembot by the way?

I said I would enjoy the irony if you hated ME3, given your name. What part of irony implies such an outcome would be expected?

But I do enjoy how you've jumped the gun with an angry post and several angrier edits based on totally misinterpreting what I said.

I wasn't throwing anger at you. And I am perfectly aware of what you said. I was merely responding by expressing my feelings to other people in general.

That's nice Luis, once you've finished ranting about something no one brought up or mentioned in this thread, we can go back to saying whether we think Mass effect is crap or not and where it comes into this list, if at all vs other games last year.

@House: lol the AC3 ending gives ME3 a run for it's money. It's just a cliff hanger with nothing to explain or tie things up, rather it just dumps everything, unresolved.

Nope, I found AC3 ending far worse then ME3s ending. At least I can choose my colour and destroy Reapers for good. Desmond goes full idiot at the end and decides to become a templar(his choice is what a Templar would do, the order he belongs to would have picked the other option) and undo everything from all the games. But the ending is hardly AC3s only issue. I know people like to blab about ME3 and think it's the worse thing since the flu but in my eyes it's a fun little game with a fantastic middle that brings back the characters I enjoyed from the firstgame, fun combat and a decent mp. Hell of alot better then Fail Effect 2 imo, but that's it. ME3 is simply an ok game. AC3 could have been an AWESOME GAME but the bugs, the horrible controls, Conor being crap compared to Ezio and Haytham, the ****** poor main story in the present timeline, Desmond parts being very meh and the then the ending

Just my opinion, again this could be because I had NO expectations for ME3 after ME2, I did for AC3 and it was several kicks and punches to the gut then a stab in the heart.

I played the first AC and loved it. By far the best in my opinion the second installments improved on certain aspects, but still didn't match up to it. But the third, well the third was meh. The ending just stands out because it made me facepalm!

Hmm, can't decide between Connor from AC3 and Jason from Far Cry 3 as worst protagonist. One lacks personality and is quite boring, the other makes you want a mute protagonist.

Worst Multiplayer
Didn't try a lot of multiplayer titles this year but I'd say it was a toss up between Far Cry 3 and DOOM 3 BFG. I really like both games, but in the case of FC3, I have to use the Ubisoft server and it's a hassle. In the case of DOOM 3 BFG, maybe I'm doing something wrong but I let the client look for servers and it never finds any matches.

Worst HUD
Hands down Far Cry 3. The minimap and all the HUD elements are ugly, take up most the screen and distract you from simply enjoying the game. Looks like this

Worst User Interface
Far Cry 3 had a rather clumsy interface, save system is dysfunctional, and the settings don't allow you to turn off the minimap. However, the UI in Game of Thrones RPG was a complete mess.

Worst Cutscene
Far Cry 3 has so many very long, unskippable cutscenes. The worst is probably the one you have to watch before the burning building mission.

Worst Intro
Mass Effect 3 - it could be a great Intro but unfortunately it's unskippable, so you have to sit there passively watching a 10 minute movie every time you start a new character.

Worst Ending
The only two games I actually finished this year were ME3 and Dishonored. I chose the Synthesis ending for ME3 and it didn't actually seem that bad until I watched a youtube video showing the other endings were the same. Jury's still out for me as I have yet to finish my second playthrough to see the Extended Cut ending. As for Dishonored, the actual ending was great, but the final mission was extremely lacking. Maybe I approached it in a way the designers did not intend, but the final level was far too easy and over almost instantly.

Worst Quest
Burning building mission in Far Cry 3. I kept falling and I had to start the entire mission over again.

I don't know about that.

The shooter gameplay isn't bad and Mass Effect isn't crap but I have not brought many games that focus on shooting last year and compared to Halo 4, Far cry 3 and black ops 2, Mass effect 3 does not have a chance.

To answer the op:

Worst Trailer - There was a fan made live action one for Borderlands 2 which was pretty bad.
Worst Ending - Gonna go with ME3 since I haven't got around to finishing AC3.
Worst Voice Acting - Game of Thrones.
Worst Villain - ME3 Illusive Man. He ended up a charicature supervilan in the end.
Worst Non-Player Character - Diana Allers. Just pointless.
Worst Plot Hole - ME3 catalyst/star child/space magic bs.
Worst Indie Game - Happy Wars. Would have been good if the mp wasn't so unstable, kept dropping out all the time.
Worst DLC - Saints Row 3 Genki bowl. Too short, overpriced and a blatant rehash of stuff already in the main game. Yes the full game was 2011 release but dlc was all 2012.
