I don't think he's been doing a good job. I don't think Bush did a good job either. Obama can't blame most of the problems he has been having on Bush. He has dozens of advisors, many who haven't been vetted by congress. We didn't vote for those advisors and their beliefs. He can't blame what he has added to the deficit on Bush. Bush may have added more, and he can't be excused either, but that doesn't excuse Obama for his additional debt either. The stimulus has been less effective then they have said it would be. You can't blame that on Bush, you have to blame it on the administration who made that stimulus. Obama's friendly foreign policy also hasn't had any effect yet. He has also lied about his promise to have the Health Care debate in the open, and in a bipartisan effort. Do you realize that our last 4 presidents have been liars? Bush Senior lied to the American people about not raising taxes. Bill Clinton lied in congress about his affair. Bush Junior lied about weapons of mass destruction. Then the afformed lie Obama has done. I want an honest president. I want a president who won't take any answer other then the right one, no matter the difficulty. Obama still has 3 years left, but currently, he hasn't improved anything. Currently, the future for the US, only looks worse.

Indeed. It's amusing watching the lesser people argue politics on the internets.

Yes, lesser. You have to be. You're in the special olympics.

Broken campaign promises =/ lies. There is a difference betweem intended policy and reality that sometimes changes rhetoric.

Whoa, you must get tons of chicks. Let me get you that merit badge right away!

Also,  with the numerous grammatical errors in your post, your use of caps lock to emphasise certain words and your spamming of several exclamation points leads me to find it very hard to believe you own a business or have any amount of success. Cogency when putting thoughts on to paper or on to any digitized medium is a big indicator of intellect and your post reads like it was typed by a 9 year old.

If you're self employed then I'm the Queen of Antiva.

It does when his administration has been asked about it and completely blows the question off. He also made that campaign promise 8 times. If the president made a comment about not being able to keep the promise, then maybe. However, he doesn't even make that comment. He just ignores it. If he made a mistake, and wasn't lying like you said, then he needs to own up to it. If you make a mistake and don't own up to it, that makes you a liar. Especially when people ask about it.

Or it makes you a politician... owait! They tend to be synonymous, neh?

edit: Explaining, politicians don't always become politicians for the good of the people. Most often they do it for themselves, to gain power. It is my supposition, personally, that Obama did just this. Many politicians see doing good for the public, making good on their promises, etc., as only a means to gaining more power. He's president now, he's more or less at the top of the ladder barring any expansion of government or nation itself, with the former of the two seeming more likely every day, and as of now he only has to make good on his promises just enough to maintain power.

That should be changed. Is the best we have a liar? Really?! We can do better then that. Liars in public positions should be destroyed by the media. We've had presidents who aren't liars. Presidents who were brutally honest. Unfortunately, its all the way back with our founding fathers. I know people who are honest. We all do. Why should we have to settle for a liar?

Anyone who thinks it should take only one year to repair a country that has been stomped on for eight years straight is out of their minds.

This thread has gone completely off-topic and politically heated discussions are generally discouraged on these forums, so I expect a lock-down incoming soon...!

I never said it should be fully repaired. However, it should looking better. It should seem like we are going in the right direction. It doesn't even look that way.

Also, what you said means nothing without looking at what he is actively doing. Bush was bad, I GET IT. I said it several times. Bush's bad policies does not excuse Obama's bad policies. I clearly laid out what I where I thought he was doing a bad job, and no one has dispersed those claims. If some of these policies are not bad, tell me why. Also tell me what policies has he brought that are good that are different from Bush's? Then tell me why. Otherwise, your broad and basic statement isn't backed up by anything.

Anyone who thinks that our previous president did nothing but stomp on the country for eight years, start to finish, has obviously forgotten what happens when a nation is really stomped on for close to a decade. What's speaking there is obvious political bias. Though Bush was not the greatest President to reign, he by far was not the worst, and to attribute such an economic recession to the actions of one man's presidency - which you insinuated in saying "stomped on for eight years" - is nothing short of complete and utter idiocy. You were either spoon-fed this nonsense without thought, or you don't have any ability to assess such a situation, but either way, to make that claim... moron. That's all.

It takes more than a decade of reckless actions on the part of more or less the entire people to cause the crapsack economy we're in now. Reckless actions stemming from what was essentially gambling akin to that which caused the Depression. This gambling was enabled in part by legislation made many years prior to Bush Jr., and as such, he cannot take the full weight of your scorn. The scorn should be directed at all of us who are citizens of the United States of America, some for the recklessness, some for enabling them through legislation, and some for sitting idly by while morons do whatever they want without fear of the risks that they're taking, because in the short term they have Federal insurance to handle it.

So no, it won't take a year to fix things. However, to blame it all on Bush as you did... absolutely preposterous.

And Trajan, you do no better by calling him a realist merely because he agrees with you.

This is pathetic as a political discussion. Seriously. If you're going to go off-topic and do something which is discouraged on the boards, at least make it legitimate. What we have here from ALL parties is mainly ad hominem attacks and (mostly vague and sweeping) assertions with no evidence (or very many specifics even). So not only have you COMPLETELY ruined what was an interesting thread, you've done it with cliched discourse akin to the "US vs. THEM" political BS we get on Fox News and MSNBC. It's rather upsetting.

Wow... You guys are really fired-up. Luckily for me the Australian economy is powering along fine thanks to my governments handling of the financial crisis that started because of Wall Street greed. Did anyone go to gaol over that or are the average citizens paying for it like usual?
