Maybe if we had more female characters, maybe if female characters dominated the roster, a thread like this would be negative?
I'd think one reason the female characters get attention is there's few female playable characters in
games in general.
Heck, female playable characters are a luxury, novelty, and in general rare in games in general, so they're getting attention.
Hell, in casts, they're generally rare.
When something's rare, it's special, and when something is special, it gets attention.
A roster full of guys? Been there, done that since characters were introduced into gaming.
A roster with women? Surprisingly rare compared.
Then again there's always the sex appeal factor. Not many of the MP guys have it. Even if they did have sex appeal, "girls don't play videogames" according to you so there's none to heap their appreciation upon the male characters!
But yeah, there's still few women, and I'd guess what ever sex appeal they're gunna heap onto the game, they do it in SP, not MP.
We're in a forum largely of straight guys. Said guys don't talk about how sexy guys are for the most part, so that means less attention.
Besides, there's lots of threads being made appreciating batarians, and krogans, and what not, and they get positive life spans. And there aren't any female representation in MP with them, so it's all guy kits. They don't get the attention this thread does because, well, this thread is towards the larger minority of female characters in general which are diverse enough to have many favorites while batarian appreciation threads only have, what, 4 choices? Krogans have 5? Women? There's well over 5 times that amount.
This thread is going coz people chime in on a fav among the numerous, and talk about them. There's a greater amount of subject matter.
But that's just my weird thoughts on the matter. Take it or leave it.
This. Also, the Female Engineer is my girl- if she weren't, the Justicar would be the runner up.
Once upon a time, I also loved the standard Asari Adept, but that was in demo days.
