All I found was this old article from september where it talks about more Mass Effect and a new IP being built from the ground up. They have a fantasy franchise and a sci fi franchise what could be next? super heroes? let the speculation begin!

Hopefully a modern game. Maybe something like Alpha Protocol? Modern espionage? They have the sci-fi/fantasy settings down...time for something modern. No shooters please. Heavy RPG like Alpha Protocol.

Im happy to hear they are working on a new IP... I know its a lot more work but I like to see new creative ideas and settings that dont just sit back and cash in on something easy.

Give up on the RPG gameplay, they want to go full shooter they can, they want the cod crowd so badly.

It's funny actually, shooters are becoming more RPG like (Borderlands, BLack ops 2, Far Cry 3) and there is Bioware trying to do the opposite.

I agree 100%. It seems all games are moving to the center:  RPG's are becoming more shooter-esque and Shooters more RPG-ish.  There is very little difference anymore between the two, except one: length of SP game.

I'd like an ancient times game. Not fantasy, just a game that is based in ancient Egypt, or Sumeria or Perisa. Just for a change of pace.

Ain't happening ... unless after 2020, when some developers from those countries try to create AA games.

...what about a Native American/Meso-American RPG?

Mayans? Cherokee? Aztec? Seminole?

During the Spaniard meeting would be cool. Can't remember his name, Francesco?  He goes on to butcher the Aztecs due to...religion.

Naughty Bear, you may be thinking of Cortez.

Jayne, I can see no greater morally gray issue than discussing human sacrifice in light of its role and acceptance in a society. Great idea!

Yes! Hernan Cortez and his conquistadors!

I can picture the game being a horror. Sacifices, skulls and blood stained temples etc. Would be so awesome...

Eh. There are lots of spy games out there. Splinter Cell, for example. They just turn into sneak games, more or less. And then there is very little reason to talk to many people (aince you are supposed to be hidden) or to have parties/companions, two of Bioware's wheel houses.

They could do it and I'm fairly certain it wouldn't be subpar or anything, but just not something I'd be interested in or something that I think would go along with the type of skills and staff they have cultivated at Bioware.

AND it's not being made by some mainstream AAA dev like Bio/EA that's gonna try and appeal everybody and their grandmother with banal actiony gameplay either.

I actually remembered that game from all the Kickstarter postings; it looked unique.

As for the new IP, I probably won't buy it as BioWare seems hell-bent on putting the stupid dialogue wheel and voiced protagonists in every game. I am pretty curious to see what setting they manage to create.

A game set in the lore of Alpha Centauri would probably be very deep. I wouldn't want BioWare to do it, though, seeing as how they usually stink it up in terms of morally grey areas.

I prefer Inca to to the others (Maya, Aztec, minor civilizations and older civilizations.)

I would actually love an RPG set during World War 3, or during a war that will wipe out civilization. You aren't there to stop it, you'd just be there to survive and possibly carve out a little slice of civilization in the immediate post-Apocalyptic after math. I can see a game like that being kind of cool.
