Why do I sometimes have "set camera to object style" and "set object to camera style" and other times I have "set camera to 3dsmax style" and "set camera to flycam style"? Is there anyway that I can have object style ALL the time?

One is the Level Editor, where you create the environment (make the floor, walls, roof, put in lighting, water, buildings etc.), the other is the Area Editor, where you take an environment and place objects, characters, conversations, items etc.

So, the question is, why do each of those Editors use completely different camera/object movement styles? I haven't got a ****ing clue. Someone at Bioware needs a slap, though.

I prefer the WASD movement in the Level Editor and the point-centric style in the area editor (the one where you CTRL+left drag to move the focal point of the camera in the X/Y axis).

Because different people were making levels than were making areas, and these groups obviously had different preferences for controlling the camera.

Well did nobody stop and think for a second that just maybe modders would like to mess around with both? Or that there would be modders who like the camera style available to the Editor they're not using? Seems pretty short-sighted. Maybe there's a technical issue involved with the Editors and camera styles. But, are the Area and Level editors really THAT different that they couldn't add all camera styles to both?

It might be whining, but its a pretty big inconvenience that shouldn't be too hard to fix in a toolset update. Flying halfway across the universe with the camera in the Area editor because the camera angle was a little too close to the ground, having to reset the camera and navigate back to the same spot is irritating.
