Ok, maybe a dumb question, but I've just started ME2, and I was wondering if I am stuck with the glowing scars the whole time, or will they be "fixed"? I imported my character from ME1 and kept the same look if that matters. I really hate those scars.

They will go if you play Paragon. Will stay if you play Renegade, unless you invest 50k platinum in buying Chakwas a machine to help fix them.
I kinda like them, personally, for my Renegades. Scary.

Ok, I'm Paragon. Whew! I think if I had a male character it wouldn't bother me, but my pretty Shepard...!

Just so you know, it takes awhile for the scars to go away on their own, even if you play as Paragon, I found. Fastest way is to probe and get platinum. Fork over the 50,000 platinum then go to Chakwa's station and have your face scars healed. That's my recommendation.

Who sells the machine you need to get healed?

When you recruit Mordin, it unlocks the research terminal in his lab. You should receive an email from Dr. Chakwas stating that as long you keep a good outlook (code speak for "Play Paragon") your scars will go away on their own. Otherwise there is a Med By upgrade you can use to remove your scars.Carol L S wrote...

You will need to research the Med Bay upgrade from the research terminal. It costs 50,000 Platinum (or less if you have an Engineer and have specced into the class passive). After researching the upgrade, go to the Med Bay and you can remove your scars by using the machine on the bed closest to the AI Core.

Waste of good platinum IMO, given how annoying scanning is.

Whole business was a waste of good scars, imo. But I liked the gnarly ones from the first game where it looks like Shepard's been through the wringer.

I like how they look when you're only a little renegade. But when you go full renegade and the eyes start glowing that just goes too far.
