I'm more concerned about the immediate galactic police state based purely on "rule of the many".

I think a large part of control is not knowing whether or not that would happen. Wouldn't take any chances.

It's just something I've thought about. How long would it take someone even thou shepards no longer human to loose themselves to that type of power.

According to a leak of one of the initial scripts it appears so.
Catalyst: You may harness the energy. Use it to circumvent my control of the Reapers.
Shepard: Control? So the Illusive Man was right.
Catalyst: Correct... though he could never have taken control, as we already controlled him.
Shepard: And what happens to me?
Catalyst: You will subvert my existence. You will control the Reapers. You will continue to seek an answer to problem.

No I think they'd just try to dominate whatever form of life exists because being guardians is their mandate now. No more cycles just the Reaper equivalent of big brother.

Only if you think the Catalyst's logic was really that compelling..
I don't see it, myself.

Yeah. I rejected Control for this very reason. No-one is supposed to have the power to play 'God'. Not the Reapers, not the bratalyst, and not Shepard. Strong as she is, it would only be a matter of time before the last remnants of her humanity ebb away.

I think a renewed war between the Reapers and various galactic civilizations was inevitable. A new cycle? Maybe not, but a war absolutely. ShepAI represents a clear and present danger and is a direct threat to the sovereignty of every government in the galaxy. I highly doubt they would wait for him to tell them they couldn't do something before continuing to develop anti-Reaper technology, and the first time he interferes with someone's national interest just starts the countdown to fleet action. The only real question is "when".

Paragon, no. Renegade, possibly. Reaper Shepard would do as your Paragon or Renegade human Shepard would. Paragon Reaper Shepard say's that he'll "protect and sustain. Act as guardian of the many". Renegade Reaper Shepard say's that he'll "destroy those who threaten the many".

I believe so. Everything Shepard was is gone and takes the place of the old Catalyst which is an AI. It was programmed to come up with a solution and Shep would eventually have to obey that programming.

Nope. If I assumed that Shepard becomes and AI = Shepard goes crazy, I'd just let the Catalyst go on with his work.
I see absolutely no reason for something like that to happen.

Depends on whether this newly-created Shepard-Catalyst's programming will get creative in the same way as the last one. The emulated morality/decision-making data can only go so far, and who knows what'll happen a few years out.

doubt control is even possible

Probably not start a new cycle. With an army of reapers, husk foot soldiers and indoctrinated spies no doubt AI shep can terrorise and subdue with going to the nuclear option

The Shepard AI has a very long time to think. Paragon, renegade I don't think it much matters once Shepard becomes the catalyst.

From the way Reaper!Shep says 'for the many' in quite an almost threatening way, yes.

My Paragon Shreaper himself? No.
My Shreaper reacting to the nearly inevitable organic/synthetic conflict? You betcha.
You can bet I'll be paying an awful lot of attention to Rannoch until some other race produces a race of AIs. And replacing the kill switch in the Relay network while rebuilding.

Shepard becomes indoctrinated with Control and Synthesis
Destroy is the right choice
Refusal lets the galaxy perish
I personally shot The Being of Light and headcanoned the rest
My Shepard shot The Being Boy of Light in turn beating indoctrination, woke up, went to the Citadel for real, fought The Being of Light, Defeated him, The Being of Light's Life Energy spread across space destroying the Reapers once and for all damaging the Citadel, Shepard's crew rescues him from the Citadel, The Citadel is destroyed, Shepard and his crew barely escape, Shepard is reunited with everyone and is a hero and a legend, The F****** End.
Role Credits...........M4 Faunts, Suicide Mission Theme, Original Mass Effect Theme, Screen turns black
Trilogy Complete, Mission Complete, Thank You, Come Again
Destroy is the right choice

Maybe, maybe he will start to get the twisted logic of the catalyst, since he is no longer organic and probably only thinks with logic.

So Destroy is the right choice except that it isn't?
