Well for me it seems the "Gimmie moar romance!!" peoples are 1. Womans who want a The sims game but endet up on RPGs somehow and 17 years old Kids never had a Girlfirend and need an replacement and think "Awwww why cant Real Girls be like that?? I just say -Hi im Hawke- and the Girls and Boys say -Oh you are sooo awsome! plase take me Hairy guy! -"
Right... I bet you found a survey to give you that data and didn't just pull it out of thin air because you disagree with people who like romance in a story, since I don't see how this can come across from forum posts unless you have some presupposed notions on women and young adults which caused you to jump into a hasty and ill-formed conclusion.
Romance is fine, I agree with strong characters, don't see the point in removing romance options unless BW wishes to focus in other matters and unable to implement it. This is a story, drama adds depth to a story, romance is a quick way to add drama, not necessary for a drama but BW is known to include some romance option in its games.
Sure i did pull it out of thin air.. i never said anything different. And it wasnt very serious at all if you didnt noticed
Im not against Romances in Videogames. If they are more then -klick some conversation 2 times and have sex- like it was in DA2 more or less.
No it wasn't, not anymore than any other video game. This is a video game, ulitimately we click to do anything, and da:o was no different in that regard. And I for my part appreicate not having another Leliana that assumes we are in an established relantionship just because I said two friendly words to her.
For me romance helps add depth in your my own pc and helps me relate. Also since I believe that the people we surround ourselves with help affects us and a romantiv partner usually is something we have around a lot and something different than a friend, then it is important to add depth to the character I play.
My warden's friendship with Morrigan and romance with Zev, ultimately led her to become a little more selfish, but also accept her fate.
My Hawke's love for Anders (romantic) and Merrill (friendship/sister-like) made the fight for her 'people' have a lot more at stake than she herself was willing to admit, and it also forced her 'thoughen up' since she felt she had to be Anders' stability. What Marathari did to Merrill slowly burned out Hawke's patience with people who was scared of blood magic and made her more aggressive. Both thing led her to become violent, cold and simply disregard people who had the audacity to disagreee with her. It cost her the frienship with Aveline, but Hawke was beyond caring.
So no I don't think bioware's romances are point and click, espcially not da2.
