I wouldn't mind it, but I would likely try for a different ending.

Well, I don't want an extreme either way, so no tears of pain and suffering, and no "save the world in triumph and adoration." I thought DA2's ending was fine, mostly because of the cool factor. DA:O's ending I was less impressed with because it was a little anti-climactic after the big fight, then when I thought the Warden was going to step through and see the crowds... nothing happened.I think that would have been a better way to end it; the guard opens the door, he steps out, and looks out in wonder and perhaps embarrassment/pride as everyone cheers. I also found the epilogues disappointing... like the developers were too lazy to put that stuff in the game, so they just wrote it out (I know that's not the case; I'd never call them lazy; that's just the feeling it left me with).

Pretty sure I'll be happy with whatever ending they come up with DA3 though. Of the three BW games I've played, I've been fairly satisfied with the endings :)

And rainbows?

Something like Knights of the Old Republic where you're the big damn hero who's saved everyone without a hint of bittersweet if that's what you're looking for?

Or even something Jade Empire where you can marry the Princess, rule the land, and everyone loves you?

A pony avatar asking me about sunshine and raibows ?

Just an ending that fits "My Little Pony" is ok :P

just teasing ya.. YES, I am sick and tired of emo ARTISTIC INTEGRITY rules that say Art must be antsy :bandit:

Yes, I want a happy ending to balance out the not-quite-bittersweet-but-kinda-depressing endings of the EC and the awful nihilistic original endings. Maybe an actually-bittersweet ending would be nice too.

oohh yessss

I would always love it!

But for bioware's taste, make it either or both bitter sweet and we really have to WORK for it.

like there's a special way to get the happy ending, like the dark ritual with morrigan >_>... making alistair... suffer *cough*

But please don't pull a DA2 ending, where it kinda just.... happened.. and I don't know where the f*** my hawke is. >:| <_<

Well, duh, yes. I already deal with enough crap in real life, I want something where I don't feel like I'm fighting a losing battle.

suffer? - if Morrigan was ugly then yes, it would be "suffering", but as she is beautifull there is not "suffering" -.- (if you were cheating on him, then maybe, but as he is not gay, that is a non issue), even more as he is saving all the grey wardens present!

as for DA2:

bah, i was raging after that (my WTF-Moment was meeting the first enchanter - after playing pro mage the whole game (being a mage myself and being with Merril)) so please not :(

greetings LAX

Well, yes I want the opportunity to get a happy, or at least semi happy ending. I want to feel like i've made a positive influence at least in the games i play.

I got enough downs in real life. It's a fantasy game. In my fantasies I'm a hero.Image IPB

Well, to quote the immortal Esmeralda Weatherwax: there are no happy endings. All you can hope for is an ending. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/wink.png[/smilie]

But yeah, definitely. I'm a sucker for happy endings. Having said that, I don't want it to be the only possible ending, but one of them should definitely be Candy for everyone.

I for one, would like a Happy Ending Choice, as I need to calm down after the bad ending of the ME trilogy.
There have been to many Bitter endings of late, you know, The Hero has to die or For some reason doesn't end up with friends and loved one or their LI.
Lets have a happy ending option for once, Theres enough misery around already.

I said it before, I say it again: Bioware seem to think that making bad endings/ grey choices, they are writing good stories - its not.
IN fact, every choice I get in Dragon Age main story feels like a big grey zone, you end up not caring anymore about what you say or do, since all choices are just equal bad.
And what have you won in the end, in lets say Dragon Age 2? Nothing, you had no impact at all.
Just like a movie, you just observed a bad ending, which would be great if this wasnt a game franchise who claim to be about choices and impacts based on them.

No. Not to the extent that you'd see at the end of Return of The Jedi. LP already summarized it fairly well when the topic was first made.

I'd like a happy ending sure, but with a tinge of bittersweet. Not "every single little thing works out in the end".

Relatively happy endings are fine with me, but for something of DA:I's nature, I don't see a Rainbows and Lollipops working out very well. Not unless it involved some sort of "secret" funny/overly happy easter egg ending i.e. Chrono Trigger or the like.

Sunshien and Lolipos don't make a good ending either ya know.

Point me to a Sunshine and Lolipops ending you think was great.
Every singel "good" ending I cna think of that was worth anything has some bitterness in it.

No, not really. It's a very dark age medieval setting, or at least partially so, and sunshine and lollipops doesn't really fit into it. A happy ending to me would be my PC lying drunk under a table in some tavern with all his NPC companions laughing hysterically and drawing faces and genitals on his hairy buttcheeks. But for that to work there would have to be a dark and miserable option as well to counter it. So rather than two extremes, a bittersweet ending sounds best.

Actually giving away a lollipop with the game might help sales. I would be totally more likely to buy it, unless it was nasty green lollipop.

KOTOR ending doesn't do much for me. Is OK I gues, but it lacks something to be really memorable.

When it comes to ending matters here is my opinion. This is basically an end of a large thread in the dragon age franchise. I would like a strong epilogue that will toy with my emotions. It would be great

I definitely wouldn't want an ending that was purely happy without some form of sacrifice or cost involved. Otherwise, it tends to feel rather cheap. The previous two games have been building up all these conflicts. If some of them come to a head in Inquisition, then it would be anticlimactic if no one died or suffered or paid any kind of price.

I am all for victory and for the possibility of the hero surviving, even getting something they want at the end, but there should be a price.
