Scabbards. How can we practice safe sword play without sheathes?

For me, I'd like to see more recreational activities, such as gambling. For example, I would have loved to see a mini version of Poker Night at the Inventory, with Hawke, Isabela, Varric, and Merrill playing Kirkwall Hold 'em at the Hanged Man.

Weapons that can be thrown. Although I do like the "more cowbells" idea. =]

And multiple classes doesn't count as replayability value?

I actually really liked how in DA:O you actually travelled across the map and had random encounters and such.
And pretty much just more of everything when it comes to features, locations, abilities, enemies (In terms of variations in a bestiary), customization options, dialogue options, choices, and yeah.
+ Who doesn't love attention to detail? Bow Strings and Scabbards would be nice :D

Removable undergarments/small clothes whatever you want to call them.

It's better than having to mod it in.

Also, removable weapons beyond cutscenes at home (i.e. the Hawke Estate).

All RPGs have story lines. Being the best (your opinion) is not really a feature.

We know that Skyrim outsold da2 by a wide margin why didnt the amazing branching storyline of DA2 beat the stark linear story of Skyrim?

Wait you mean an exploration, housing and crafting focus beats out a really good story?

Execution beat out DA2's storyline. DA2 wasn't given the time and resources to be executed as well as Skyrim. However, proper execution and compelling and engrossing storytelling are hard to beat. See The Walking Dead games GOY status.

Cloaks. Awesome Game of Throne cloaks. Bethesda really dropped the ball on the lack of awesome Game of Throne cloaks in Skyrim, maybe BioWare can make up for that in DA.

I don't know what it lacks now (as we know pretty much nothing about the new game), but the series did and still does have a feature on the verge of extinction: party-based tactic gameplay.

Unarmed combat. Maybe grappling. Chokeholds and throws. Holding someone and pinning them while the rogue stabs at them.

I'm not sure it would make people buy it.

But food. That's what DA is missing. I love food in RPGs, more than anything.

I'd love to see it become a more open world, not gonna happen, but it would be cool. A new combat system as well, DA2 was just mashing buttons, got old really fast. One thing I'd really like to see is serious plot changes or multiple story branches based on the choices I make, not have the choices barely noticeable, or end up as small footnotes when all is said and done. The ability to pick my companions gear for sure, if I'm spending the whole game with them, I'd like to develop them the way I want, with the gear I choose. Last, and most important, I'd like to see a polished game that had the proper time to be made, not a rushed game full of cut corners to meet a deadline. I'd rather see a delay in the release, than have content cut from the game and corners being cut due to time restraints, that's how DA2 felt for me.

Popularity does not indicate quality. Skyrim's success could be for any number of reasons, not the least of which would be that it had a much more aggressive media campagin.

Depends what you are asking, are you asking for superior games with branching storylines or games that do the branching storyline better than the Dragon Age series? The answer to both questions is the Witcher 2 by a clean lightyear.

While the Witcher series is good (saying it's 'better' is pure subjectivity, so best avoid that really), there exists in it only two real 'branches' to the storyline, that being where you choose between Iorveth or Roche at the end of chapter 1, and helping the aforementioned person of choice or not, at the end of chapter 3. And the first choice in chapter 1 is possibly the only importent one, as it decides where you end up in chapter 2.
Between these two points, the story plays out in a quite linear fashion, with little or no choices between them.

So yeah, it's a different system, mainly because it's one big choice that can put you onto two different, but very linear paths, but it's certainly not the best 'by a lightyear'.

Perhaps you should actually play the Witcher 2, unless of course you are trying to claim that Dragon Age 2 wasnt a branching storyline at all and that Origins only had 6 short branches at the beginning that all branched into a long singular linear storyline. I do however admire your guts however in trying to present the argument in a civil manner in an effort to make it look like you knew what you were talking about but unfortunately for you my dear wikipedia doesnt exactly impart all the knowledge one gains of a game by actually playing it.

Right, so because someone disagrees with you and has valid criticism of a game you like, that automatically means they must not have played it? Come off it, stop the bollocks.  I had someone accuse me of never having played the original Witcher when I explained at length about how and why I didn't like it, and I still happily stand by that assessment.

As for what DA is missing... I can think of a few things:
1) A decent sized monster roster
2) A good variety of items and distinction between them
3) Great music
because I got a fever, and the only cure
IS MORE COWBELL

They've probably figured by now that people are going to mod it in anyway.
