In dragon age and drangon age 2 you gave us a character cap. When we brought saves over through DLC it counted as a new character file. This often caused promblems after two complete play thrus for the first game. Though the DLC missions corrected this problem in the second game the character cap was still limited. There are many avenues i want to explore in the games, trying to get every little nook and cranny out of the games hidden treasures. Sometimes it takes a lot of searching to find it. Please remove the character cap in the next game. I really dont want to have to sacrifice saves just so i can play thru and see something new. I like transfering over my characters and files, and custom tailoring the game and universe to my flavor of play, but i also dont want to loose all that hard work in the process.

I second this. In every DA title I've played I've had to either delete characters (which is a pain on Xbox) or use a second account. What can I say? I like making new PCs. If we can't have more slots I'd at least like the ability to delete save files from within the game on Xbox. Going to the hard drive every time is a major pain in the ***, especially if you made the mistake of naming two characters the same, but only want to delete one of them.

I move my old saves to a jump drive on the X-Box. That way I can have as many as I like without running afoul of the (completely pointless IMHO) character cap.

Best Idea Ever! Hate character caps

I doubt the character cap is arbitrary. Is there some type of memory issue on consoles that means fewer possible save game slots than PC?

I don't think so. Many other Xbox games have no caps on such things.

What ever the reason it's rather annoying. i had to keep deleting files just so i could make new characters hoping that the info i had from previous saves was still there.

Signed. I hate that I've lost some of my Wardens and Hawkes because of the character cap.

Very much supported. If there's a reason you need a limit (say, filenames or the like), could it at least be put to 99 or something? I doubt many would run into a problem with not being able to create the 100th character =)

I support this.

This. I had to delete like fiend just to get my main warden into Golems of Amgarak. I didn't need my Leliana's Song or Darkspawn saves to import, but getting rid of them took forever. I still haven't done the DLC with two other saves, just because there's no room for them.Swagger7 wrote...

Seriously: jump drives. Move all your saves to one when you start a new character. When you're done with that one, move all your saves again and start fresh.
Granted, moving them back to the device on which you like to play can be a pain for importing, but you can have pretty much unlimited characters that way. Just remember to clean out your files when you stop playing a character.
That said, I wish someone would explain the purpose of the cap. My best guess thus far is "how many fit on the screen at lower resolutions".

I assume this is on consoles? Wow. I didn't know there was a cap. That really sucks. I support removing the cap. It'd drive me insane to have the number of characters I can have limited. :\\

Yes, at most ten characters both in DAO and DA2. If you play DAO->Awakening->Golems->Witch hunt, you have already used four slots.Kiatta wrote...

I'll just go ahead and add that to the list of reasons I'm glad I play on PC. Fight the good fight, console players!
Edit: typo.
