I listed here all the gameplay changes I would like to see in the next Mass Effect game:
  • The Biggest change would be co-op campaing. The Players would be able to join eachothers games and choose one of the crew (or what ever it's going to be) members. They would have unique dialogue options for each character and all players would be able to make choices during the game and the choices would affect on the gaming experience. The Co-op would be a kind of mix of Resident Evil 6, Journey and The Old Rebublic. The Choices would change the character you are playing and would open up new dialogue options. All the characters could have diffrent kind of relationship with eachother and that would affect on how do they chat, or talk otherwise during the game.
  • Moving on with the co-op.The Players that join in to your game would be complete strangers and you could see only the characters they play and you couldn't talk to eachother any otherwise then through dialogue of your characters.
  • When a player joins in your game he/she chooses a character and every decision he/she makes, changes the character permanetly. You could have a companion character that your joining "friend" could customize with a similiar system and they would each have their own story elements. If you weren't online you could still keep playing without them, but their story elements and choices would stcik.
  • You also should be able to choose a game mode where other players can't change the characters they are playing if you would want to keep your characters the way they are.
  • The "Host" would be able to kick trolling players, if they f**k up your characters.
  • And finaly, when you have once joined in another players party, you could always rejoin on the same character you were already playing. If you put like three hours on one character and then you want to play again and you'd just had to start over, imagine the amount of rage. You still wouldn't know the account name of the player whose game you had earlier joined.
I think that with all these changes, the players would get more close to their "teammates", when they know that there is an actual person behind that character. Let me know what you think on the comments. Sorry for all the typos.

Though it would be humorous to need to speak to someone like your LI and they keep running off all over the ship, controlled by some idiot. Okay, it'd be funny once.

I understand the interest in co-op campaigning, but personally, I'm not a fan of the idea. Generally speaking, in any co-op game I've ever played, I can never hook up with my friends for a game because of scheduling issues (unless I only want to play for like an hour once a week), and paired with random people, I get either trolls, or people who just do not enjoy the same aspects of games as I do. I mean, I'm a completionist. I do everything I can in a game. So if I'm hosting and someone gets paired with me who just wants to do main missions and ignore side quests, are they stuck with doing what I want? Or can they mess up my game by triggering the next main quest on me before I get to finish all my side quests?

And personally, as anti-social as this will sound, I don't particularly want random people to be able to impact my game. Which is why I avoid MMORPGs.

But with all that said, at least you've thought of addressing certain issues like trolls. However, co-op gaming is really something that I think appeals only to certain segments of gamers... at least as far as this idea goes. Some people might like the chance to play a squadmate in someone else's game. Me personally? I'd never do it. Host only for me. Because I'd want to be able to experience the whole story. Not drop into someone else's game for 3 hours now, and then for 3 more hours a few days later after the host has finished one-third of the game while I wasn't there.

The only co-op I'd ever willingly play would be one where both players get their own customizable character, and could continue the story from where they left off no matter what. So if I joined a game with Stoob for 3 hours, I could then save, come back, and resume the game from that very point with my own character. Not be stuck with the options of either re-joining Stoob's game at a later point or starting all over in someone else's game.

If that makes any sense...
