Firebase dreadnought.

An Abandond Cerberus Dreadnought floats amongst the wreckage of previous engagements with the Alliance. Alliance and council officials are attempting to recover what they can of the wreckage but enemy forces are making it difficult. Constant attacks by Reaper controlled forces and Cerberus make collecting and transfering information from the wreckage difficult; Alliance forces are being deployed to fend off enemy forces!

Players fight inside the confines of a dreadnought hangar bay+surrounding area's such as fighter/vehicle storage.
The layout could be similar to the Cerberus base hangar which imo had excellent sniping points. Of course it'd be impossible for bosses to get to you on the catwalks which would make a map like this more suitable for snipers for the raised protection from Brutes, Praetorians, Atlases and Ravagers.

Kodiaks, Tridents, Tanks and Atlas's could be the only cover which would prevent players from seeing over when in the main strip of the map, and force them to look to their side. Kodiaks would have open doors which could be used as potential trap areas for mines and ammunition area's.

-------------------------------

Possible Map Hazard:
No air+low gravity or Low gravity and Air venting.

Situated atop the catwalks is a control room that looks out to the whole hangar. In it is a control to vent the hangar which can be accessed by enemies and controlled by eneimes and team mates. classes with no helmets such as Asari will die due to the lack of air, classes with breathers will survive with limited mobilbity while enemy forces without mag boots such as reapers+ certain cerberus types float about the hangar for approximately 1 minute.

When gravity reactivates, all enemies floating take a small 1 bar damage to health/ loose half shield+barrier.

The no air hazard would only prove to be dangerous to the squad than it would enemy factions.

In Addition to this, Kodiak doors and access to the control room will be prevented for approximately 1 minute. This will restrict player access to ammunition and could potentially lock players inside the control room preventing them from engaging in combat. This would encourage players to play it safe for a minute by conserving ammo or using powers to thin out enemy forces and save bosses for last. Players can also be trapped inside Kodiaks which could result in their imanent death if enemy forces surround the shuttle.

Secondary hazard:
No air + Gunship volley

When the Hangar bay doors are Opened an enemy Gunship/Harvester/Geth dropship or army of Praetorians, float at the hangar bay entrance and unleash a volley of projectiles/beams through out the whole area for 1 minute.
Players must take cover and make sure not to leave cover until the bombardment stops. Time can vary between 1 minute to 2 minutes. Enemies may not take cover and can continue to attack.

----------------------------------------

To counteract the possibilty of the hangar bay venting and killing our squads, classes without helmets are given breathers to wear from the alliance. (These will automatically be added when playing on this map and can be customised according to colour and pattern choices)
  • Salarians wear breathers similar to Mordins in ME2
  • Asari wear breathers similar to Liara's
  • Turians wear breathers simialr to the Standard Turian helmet.
  • Krogan use Breathers similar to the standard Krogran Breather.
  • Batarians will require a new breather/the standard Human helmet.
Possible ways to prevent farming:
  • Add ramps to allow bosses to easily access the catwalks preventing classes such as Demolishers from spamming grenades from above.
  • The railings can be shot through instead of providing full cover encouraging snipers to cloak, snipe and run back to cover.
  • Before each objective wave the hazard could kick in randomly preventing access to Grenades. Snipers on the catwalks could be the safest but will have limited firing capabilities due to the bombardment.
Please feel free to recommend any additions to the map.
I will create a 2D map at one point to demonstrate the envisioned layout.
