Since then, not had that problem. Got back into Solo'ing again with the challenges and realised how godly Infiltrators were back then. I did my Bronze time as a Turian Soldier with my Phaeston/Revanant, the Silver's as a TGI with that Phoon.
And with Golds, dabbled around with the KroSentinel and TGI. Been hitting a lot of frustration with instant kills and lapses of concentration. I'm rather great at the latter.

The kroguard is somewhat immune to the Geth stagger problem, as long as you don't turn your back on them, and with shield booster and cyclonic, you're hard enough to be able to risk melee attacks frequent enough to keep rage active.
Then constantly run in circles, not so fast that you lose them, but just fast enough that they follow you, and only come at you from that one direction.
They don't call this easy mode for nothing, but nonetheless, I always manage to use up every last one of my consumables by the end of wave 10, and semi panic to extraction.
Technically, reapers are the easiest faction to solo, if it wasn't for the inevitable Banshee sync kill 1 minute before extraction.
Just to be sure, I did Lone Wolf twice. The next couple of times I'll try it with a more difficult kit.

For the Lone Wolf i did my golds with the TGI and the Huntress, and you don't want to know how many failed attempts it took. I'm always getting impatient at just the wrong moment, make a stupid move, try to kill just one more mook instead of repositioning, or just plain panic. But it did make me a better player all in all, I think. Now I think of doing a solo with the Fury and probably the SI. Want to check how good of a sniper i am, really.
Now where do I apply for my cupcake?

Yet, I feel bad if people bleed out, and I feel bad if I am not around when they get surrounded and smoked. Playing nice guy can get you killed, though. At least when you are solo, you don't have some doofus running about kiting stuff all over creation, making it harder for everyone. If you can solo, it means you understand how and where enemies spawn, how they move around, react, and how to kite them. I think it should be mandatory training for all Alliance recruits.
One thing I truly hate is when we are taking on a large wave 10 groups (faction does not matter). Everyone fixates on the big boss units - even if these team members don't have good weaponry. They don't use skills that help debuff, they don't attack the support mobs, and they don't do that much damage to the boss units. It takes very little of this type of stuff before I am fed up with a group.
When you play with friends its a lot more fun. Too many pugs and you will lose your faith in humanity.

1: Carnage at rank 3
2: Fortification: 4A, 5B, 6B
3: Inferno Grenades: 4B,5B,6B
4: Krogan Berserker: 4B, 5A
5: Fitness: 4B, 5B, 6B
Use this build on Reapers/Giant/Gold and it is fairly easy. Just light enemies on fire and detonate with carnage after they have burned a bit. All you have to do is run from ammo box to ammo box to get grenades and its not that bad.... Bit of an "Easy button" though.
*I don't like to use my "Lone Wolf" banner much because PUG's often kick me for using it.*

No worries, everyone has to find the best method suitable for them. I personally did not enjoy the Kroguard or TGI, and did not want to solo Gold using the tactics suited to those kits.
Experiments. Practice. Get to know the waves, the budgets, the enemy behaviour. It'll come.

I did my Bronze / Silvers with the Kroguard against Geth with relative ease (only used consumable - rocket) but it's just not happening for me with the Kroguard on Gold.
I did play Everquest for a long time and used to solo kite / quad enemies so I'm really familar with that tactic. The idea of letting DC just eat away at the wave is terrific.
How specced that Huntress?

on gold the objective waves are really the only speedbump
The objective waves were the only time I used any consumables and my two failures on gold were gut stabs on wave 6 trying to activate the 4 objects.
Having a plan for the objectives and not being impatient (I was) are really important
The non objective waves are pretty easy

Never played with the TGI before...cloak, overload, and stim packs didnt appeal to me...while I've seen some players go all out beast mode on him, he can be quite the survivor. IMO, after soloing with him, he's can be the solo character with training wheels.
Stay at spawn, and run clock wise around the map when you get overwhelmed at the spawn.
Hit stim packs as soon as your sheilds get broken (don't worry, you are solo'ing, there will always be nades/packs at the ammo chests). Stim packs are obviously the key here.
For soloing noobs like myself, I played overly cautious. Don't stand in one spot too long and don't stay focused on one target too long (unless you hear "Down to the last target")
Be patient with objectives. Kite enemies away when needed. Don't worry, there is plenty of time.
Failed the first time, but the second time, I used no ops packs, no medigels, and no missiles. I broke no records in completion time, but I completed it no problem. It wasn't hard..it more tedious than hard.
