please end of making a DAO MMO , just think if you did you would be first to put a decent mmo on consoles would be a huge hit or hell even make it like old shadows of amn style like 4 players would be awesome imo. do it
If they were ever going to make a MMO, I really hope it doesn't come to consoles. Or at least then PC players should get their own game and servers. Otherwise we would have to suffer the clumsiness of console games.

That, and storylines generally take the backseat in MMOs. Oh, and the monthly fee BS.

And you're saying that a single player game's world can be easily converted into a MMORPG. I have played many MMOs (Warhammer, WoW, Aion and lots of free MMOs) and NONE of them has had an interesting story that you could follow. In MMORPGs you just go from place to place, grind some mobs and do quests... Then at the max level you start farming and do the same instances every now and then. Unfortunately I found this extremely boring.coolguy125 wrote...
what!? you cant beat em thats the best thing , your sayin a DAO world would get boring with the life the game has and everything thats insane

It's why I don't waste time with MMO games any more, I played WOW for about 6 months before I gave up, Age of Conan for about 4 weeks, city of heroes for about 2 months on and off.
Other problems with the MMO is that unless you can game at regular times the social side doesn't really work, not to mention some other players can really suck the fun out of the game.
That's not to say there wouldn't be a market for such a MMO or that they shouldn't make it, just that I would have no interest in it and hope they don't do it at the expense of what they do best story driven single player CRPGs.

The best MMO's are the original ones like "EVE online" for example.
If you do not want dragon age to become a laughing stock then say no to an MMO version.

You can't have an interactive and changing world in MMORPGs. Well, Blizzard has introduced phasing, but that doesn't actually mean that the world really changes for everyone.coolguy125 wrote...
That would be coolest thing ever if you changed the world with other ppl in the game , and you were known for doin that , but i see where your gettin at i guess it would just be cool if you were able to bring a friend or two into your world instead of 1000 but i doubt it will ever happen
Instead of a MMORPG you should be asking for a co-op mode for example.

For example, Warcraft was a game for 10 years before it turned into an MMO. The fans of the franchise gathered over those 10 years gave Blizzard a guaranteed and very large player base to conscript into MMO gaming. DA has been getting fan interest for how long? How many people, do you suppose, would flock to a medieval themed MMO set in the DA universe right now? Enough to make it survive and turn into a profitable venture for Bioware? I doubt it.

Why not? DA:O has interesting stuff for single players... but multi is an entire different story, and it certainly would turn to the boring grinding.
BW's The Old Republic (Star Wars origin) however, has such a rich background already that it is doable to make an single/multiplayer (MMO)RPG-experience for such vast amounts of players. Dragon Age just doesn't lend itself good enough as a unique MMO experience - which is needed to get an vast group of subscribers

The technology required to organize and let alone allow for thousands of players constantly changing the world.... simply does not exist. There is a reason why all the quests in MMOs are simple and stupid: because those are easy to program for a world of that scope, let alone write for. Writing for an MMO versus writing for a SP are very different. Oddly enough, you have far more freedom writing for SP than an MMO.
Whenever anyone brings up DA:O as an MMO, the assumption is that the gameplay would remain the same. It wouldn't. It would change drastically.

I'm not completely against MMO's but I do not really care for them. I've played a little bit of them all(not really but a lot)
MMO's are fun for grinding out characters & PVP but if you want character relationships, a deep plot, & tons of info about the world you've been tossed into most likely to save from evil then you should look else where b/c most MMO's will offer little to none of that.
WoW is fun for example but all you do is collect 10 of something until you level high enough to raid then run that instance time & time again until you get the loot you want, travel run the next instance until you have a full set. MMO's are designed to be repetitive with a low drop chance to keep players paying & comming back for more. Which is fun for a while but I personally prefer a deep story.
Plus I doubt a consoel could handle an MMO at all...it would just ..idk i mean consoles have what 32 players on the same server at most? versus 5000 or more on PC. Plus most people play MMO's like 5-18 hours a day at first so 99% of 360 owners would be sending there consoles in within a week
