Hello there, I am im big trouble and really comfused. I had my toolset/game running in best of shapes. Got a better PC and reinstalled, replacing folders with the backups I had made. Now, when I try to place tiles, meta tiles or any tiles at all, my screen window freezes. I have a hard time moving it because it takes its blessed 30 seconds to process any movement. Also, when I move the tiles in thew window to place them, they look static, and I have to make the cursor dissapear on some edge or corner and then reappear to move the tiles around. It won't let me place any tile that is not directly near an edge of the window for the same reasons. Very puzzled. Hope some of you have some input to give away. Regards, ELA

if ur using win8 you might find that ideas fall short - but i could b wrong.
if u hav win7 then your chances are much better to get practised advice
check your toolset settings
win7 is backwards compatible with all of the .net versions but you might try 3.5 just the same
try compatibility mode - winxp as administrator
google
forum search
patched to 1.23
good luck
if all else fails and your project remains a leisure priority - reinstall your win 7/8 in win 32 mode - i did this with win7 and i have had zero compatibility issues - and with the machine i have, even the most recent games run fine and at high graphics mode -
oh ya, what video card(s) do you have - certain updates to certain cards bug the toolset

Hey there, thanks for all the advice. I re-installed EVERYTHING including Win7, My video card is a GeForce GT 240, up to date drivers. Now I get to place tiles just fine, but moving placeables around gives me a headache of lags! Tried all your suggestions...still no clue. Thanks anyway

I sometimes get jerky placeable movement or just jumps and it is really annoying but it seems to come from how the toolset loaded as turning it off and reloading seems to cure it. Try making a small area with nothing in it, put in a pile of placeables and drag them around to see what happens. You can do it on the same module you're working on then delete the area later.

I get this at times. Place the item roughly in the right place then use the arrow keys, usually fine for me.

I will try the early drivers. When I create an area and try to place any placeables, as soon as they enter the screen they lag the entire toolset for around 15 seconds every time the position refreshes. It is impossible to move anything or change the camera view and after removing the selected item from the cursor it takes around a minute to get back to normal, then it moves fine. I select anything in the blueprints category and boom it freaking lags and all over again. I chose 64bits, I don't know why but it works better for me. I had 32bits installed when I opened the thread and it was all the same as the toolset is concerned. No problem ingame. The compatibility check is fine, I am supposed to use the toolset smoothly. I got a new computer for christmas, before that I never had a problem for years. I changed the motherboard, processor, have the same graphics card. It puzzles me, I've tried EVERYTHING you can think of. I am giving up, but it's just making me really curious to what has changed... Thanks for all your replies!

The exact driver that kamal_ suggested didn't fix anything...*rolls eyes* back to real life without a fantasy outlet...

Just an idea, is your computer running anything else at the same time as the toolset ? Mine throws a wobbly and slows down when it's doing a scan.
