Like Samara's mission, can you go straight to the suicide mission when you get the Reaper IFF?

You can skip Tali, Thane, Samara and the 2 DLC characters if you want.
If you care about casualties in the suicide mission, you need to make sure you have a tech expert and enough squad points for holding the line though.(see stickied post)

AH thank you twirpdk, a problem happened with my xbox and it wouldn't start Samara's mission. Just her mission alone, shadow broker mission started ok even though starting point was in the same area. It must be a problem with considering I purchased another ME2 incase the one I already had was damaged but still the same problem cropped up.

It's a known bug and it also affects the Than recruitment mission. Basically you need to do both before beginning Lair of the Shadow Broker. You ought to be able to check Liara's computer terminal for the info to start those mission when she no longer occupies that office but it looks like that's where the bug is. Whether you can begin LotSB and then go recruit Thane/Samara before catching a cab to Liara's apartment I don't know. Haven't tried it as I'd always done Shadow Broker after all the recruitment missions before I heard about the Smara/Thane problem, and after that I had a good reason to carry on doing it that way.

The one time i did Lair of the Shadow Broker before those recruitment missions, the terminal in Liara's room worked fine to continue them afterwards.
But that's the PC version(v.1.02)

Interesting. I hadn't heard that the bug wasn't present across all platforms. Maybe I've been avoiding something that isn't there as I'm on PC too. Can I ask if you spoke to Liara about Thane and Samara before doing LotSB, and if you did did you also speak to the two contacts she gave you, or did you go straight to Liara and do her mission and then check her computer?

As soon as you talk to her about them, the mission is considered progressed, you don't need Liara or the terminal anymore, and the terminal is empty after she leaves.
In this playthrough i completely avoided talking to her about them, and the terminal was able to progress both missions after she was gone.
