So, what would cause you to give negative rep?

They're not cheating, so I can't report them. I remember one guy who did nothing but run laps around Reactor and bleed out. If he didn't die, he'd kite all the enemies to our flank and get us pinned. Screw that guy.

The reason I ask is that I have recently noticed a spike in my own negative rep, which leaves me at at bit of a loss. I mostly play on Silver (don't like the unpredictability of Gold PUGs), and by far my worst sin is grenade abuse via the capacity gear. I have a Demolisher geared to equip 13 grenades and use the to take out spawns and immobilize targets for easy sniping. Is that "unsportsmanlike?" Maybe time to put this build to rest...
The thing is, I don't do any of what I would consider to be the really bad things like leeching, rage quitting, or verbally abusing people over the mic. I don't even use powers that cause screen shake because I don't like it when it's done to me.
In short, I don't think the negative rep I've accrued is a reflection of my generally courteous and responsible behavior online. Am I wrong?
Well, unless your grenade spam ends up regularly nuking spawns (and thereby ruining the spirit of the game, as far as some players are concerned), then it's likely just the result of people who got angry at you for stupid or pointless reasons.
That sounds like using grenades for the exact purpose they were intended for.
Some people, myself included, play for more than just the credit payouts, and find it boring to sit around doing nothing while one of the other players obliterates entire waves with grenades.
Also, on a side note, grenades were designed for the general purpose of dealing high multi-target damage, and not specifically for nuking spawns, so there are other practical uses for grenades that still allow the rest of the team to participate in the battle.

Don't worry about it, the rep system is an utter waste of time. Think of it like these forums. people will bad mouth you whenever you don't agree with whatever it is they are saying. Likewise in the game, people will rate you badly if you do not live up to their silly standard. Play how you wish, in the end those raters mean jack shat.

I'm at 16% avoided with Unsporting behavior sitting at 50%. Who knows why. I try to support the team, killing as much as I can, reviving teammates when I can, using medigel to revive myself when I went down because of my own stupidity so I didn't cause my teammates to have to come to my rescue. But still have 16% of the people I've played with want to avoid me. /shrug Oh well, can't please everyone all the time.
Not 16% who played with you, only 16% who bothered to rate you at all.

- Don't attempt to help with objectives
- Don't attempt to get to the extraction point
- Refuse to revive other teammates
Also, not reviving someone who is surrounded by Banshees and Brutes is understandable...but when there's no enemies around and you just leave a teammate so you can go find more enemies to up your score - negative rep!
Checked my own rep and saw I had 57% negative reviews...
33% are for Unsporting Conduct - not sure why...I revive people all the time and always help with objectives when I can...
22% are for Quitting Early - I've maybe quit early 3 or 4 times...I wonder how many of those reviews were after I lost connection to the match
And another 22% are from being Overly Aggressive which makes no sense to me...it's for taking the game too seriously or getting angry at other players...I don't use a mic so how the hell could someone think I'm being Overly Aggressive through nothing more than my gameplay?

from Bronze. Maybe no neg's should be postable from Bronze, it's boot camp for pete's sake.
If someone wants to nuke the spawns, let'em, we all share the points, and the time bonus goes up. One thing is true, mic's on Bronze are rare. I was shouting at the team for someone having their tv audio on, ha, it was me!

Nothing. Every match is 100% different. What are the odds of getting that player again? How many even know about 'rep' ? I was shocked at mine, all from ME3 unsportsmanlike conduct, and all

That's the thing about Bronze: with virtually no threat of death, the only way to make a game of it is to compete for kills. I'd say it's less boot camp than live fire training for kits you've never used before.

Refuse to gel to finish match, refuse to revive, refuse to aid in objectives or act like a jag = unsporting
If you're the host and quit = quiting early
If you suck and continuously hinder the teams success, if you have a laggy connection = lacking skill
If you send me hate mail and have a potty mouth = unpleasant language
But I don't really use very often and if I like your work ill give you + review and let you know.

I've got 32% Bad Rep. All from Trash Talking before I even got a headset.
But nowadays I really only give it during PuG's if I find someone who's: Leeching, Has no Medigel, Not helping out at all, AFC'ing.. Those types of things just so I don't run into them again.
I have a 62%. I rarely use my mic, I never insult any one unless they insult me first. I never leave a game until the match or game is over. I never TK, my skill does improve with more play.
I give out neg rep to people who are incapabe of playing the game correctly or are just being a dick.

Controller batteries die, spilled beer, animal interference, lag, internet glitches,
drank too much beer, too tired, leveling up, not enough beer,or how bout a Krogan in rage on a FB White hazard map - it's a total white out. Seriously, to neg report someone
for just one match seems just mean. Xbox should give better info, like did you earn (!)
your 60% score in one match?

I'm not entirely sure where my unsportsmanlike conduct for ME3 came from, but I assume it's from people who were far too difficult to revive getting anal pained over me avoiding the banshee and trio of brutes standing over their body.

That said...i'll drop rep if I see someone glitching, cheating, or exploiting. Or just being an ass.
Most of the the time I let it go solely because I don't wanna mess with the crappy xbox guide menus.
