No, no, no. The ammo mod for sniper rifles and shotguns is for SPARE AMMO. Energy weapons like those don't have spare ammo, they technically have one big magazine. MAGAZINE CAPACITY increases how much you can fire on the CSMG and PPR.

Quite. I'm afraid that "great mind" is a woeful exaggeration of your intellect, my good man.

I didn't like it at all. DPS was very high, but I had trouble keeping it on a moving target. I'm too twitchy I guess.

And god forbid you ever run it dry.

You guys can have fun calling it a crap weapon while I kill all those Atlases, Scions, Praetorians, Primes and Banshees for you on Gold or Platinum in 3 bursts of my CSR. You don't even have to tap it. It's not hard to use it just takes a bit of practice. You can hold it down for almost 2 full seconds before it burns out. It's about the same as a 1 shot sniper rifle. Takes about 2 seconds to shoot/reloadcancel, shoot/reloadcancel..

Also the range is only bad on HUGE maps like Ghost or Hydra.  And even then it's only at certain spawn points and check points where this is a problem.

It's pretty effective if used well, but it has a needlessly high learning curve compared to the payoff.

Tap the reload button.   It cools down almost immediatlely.

It's possibly the best boss killer in the game. I only use it on my QMI. After I scan the boss unit it only takes a clip to kill them (tapping and not letting it run out).

But yes, follow the tips above and you'll learn to love it.

Haha. Good one. Almost got me.

Wait a second....you are serious?

Guess you never used it like a raptor. Thing devours targets, slap all available piercing mods on it and watch the Scions melt.

It sucks.
Buff it.

The CSR is not a Mattock.
It's a long range Reegar.

For me there are only two sniper rifles that suck more than the CSR.
Black Widow X
Javelin X
And for certain classes I would still take the CSR over either of those two. Since we're here buff the Black Widow and Javelin while we're at it. Terrible weapons.

This gun needs a serious overhaul to be even remotely playable.

It is playable now
a magazine buff would make it more viable on non infiltrators
scope and range fixes would be nice
But even in its current shape it is a very good gun

If they made the collector sniper rifle just like the reegar it would be amazing, especially since it eliminates the reload time if you accidently use up all the ammo. However, this is definitely not the worst gun out here, during completing my sniper challenge I went through most of the sniper rifles and I can say with absolute certainty that the incisor is bar non the worst gun... period.

OP the CSR has a very high learning curve.
1st fan the trigger like it is a single shot weapon, this will help you control the clip and not over heat
2nd unlike other Sniper rifles CSR has no hip fire penalty.

i typically throw this on a salarian infiltrator and play it more like an assault rifle than a sniper rifle

#2 is wrong, the CSR has a 25% damage reduction hipfire penalty.

As for #1, most people seem to use it that way but I don't. You'll do more damage in less time holding down the trigger. You just have get a feel for how long you can fire before depleting the clip completely.

I enjoyed using the CSR on my Destroyer, the extra magazine amount you get from DM means I was able to hold down the firing trigger even longer, and with the very small magazine the gun currently comes with, DM made things much easier on my end.

Use it on the huntress op. Cloak, DC, burst fire, cloak and warp. Use warp or incendiary rounds. It just takes a little practice.
