Basically the thread title. A weekly event where teams compete against each other in an event suggested and voted on by the BSN community (IE Reapers/Goddess/All Asari team or whatever the community suggests for that week and votes upon). The event would take place in between weekend operations. A challenge in each difficulty (bronze to platinum) with a seperate winner for both time and points with complete extractions.

The purpose would be to increase play during the week and hopefully allow players across all platforms and difficulty levels to show off their mad ME3 MP skills. The reward would be the undying adulation of the BSN community:D and hopefully Bioware would throw in a small reward like a PSP or even a JEP/victory pack for the winners of each difficulty on each platform. Winners submit screen shot within weekly challenge thread and no participants receive mulptiple rewards (IE a team/player competes in each difficulty level for multiple rewards).

This would in essence be a weekly challenge for the community by the community. Thoughts?

Let's skip the competition and just give me the ownage reward pack to spare everyone else the shame and frustration.

People would cry for a reward, they already are whining because it got easier to get a weekly weapon upgrade.

Would get old after Jay wins 3 in a row by a ridiculous margin.

Possibly have to tweak the rules a bit or nerf Jay somehow. Possibly a different winner each week.

There doesn't have to be a reward but it would probably increase participation. Even a JEP would be sufficient IMO. Too much of a reward might encourage misbehavior and more whining.

I have no doubt some would be negative but if we could give the majority of the community a casual and fun challenge it might be nice.

It'd be cool, but I think you'd have to separate out different platforms to make it fair. The same people would also win every week, because let's face it, some players are just better than others.

I would strogly oppose this.

This is a co-op game, trying to change it into a pvp contest by using a stupid, flawed and not accurate scoreboard is just silly.

I would in no way support a Jay_Hoxtatron and Stentron weekly coronation. :P Also think BSN would blow up with Ron Jeremy Size Epeen hate threads.

I like the idea of fun-themed runs, but not as a competition.

Depends... it won't be much of a contest if the usual 5-10 people are winning all the prizes, but I guess this is what competition is all about...

fixed that
and really?
had't you even thought that this MP are coop/pve and this MP idea suggested here are pvp version for MP because it would allow MP to be expanded more on terms of new features available.
for instance, you'd get private pvp or public pvp, which are 1 on 1 or pvp team for team vs team etc etc.
i believe that's what would be added to Mass Effect 4 in future. and ME3MP would be a testbed for that.

Again most of the reward would be something trivial. The true reward would be the fun of competing in a something choosen by the community. Reward isn't an important part of this. I suppose it would have to be a differnt winner every week to keep it from becoming annoying. Winning team from each platform and from each difficulty.

It would be team versus team. And the community can decide the way the winner is crowned. I like clearance time but there are easy ways to manipulate that.

Team vs team, 2 vs 2 or 1 vs 1 - doesn't matter, the argument is the same.

Honestly, the only way I can think of to make a good winner selection method is by voting, lol. There is no number that can accurately describe the performance of a team in this game, sadly. Time might be close, but it can be easily manipulated, as you say, and depends too much on luck.

So yeah, if everyone got a video of their run and then everyone votes, that's the only way I can think about making it quite fair. But yeah, not gonna happen.

So, I'd support the non-competitive runs. Didn't understand you were keeping that as a possibility, at first, sorry.

Yeah, pretty much this is just a rough idea I'm kicking around in my mind. The community having a good time with minimum negativity is the ultimate goal and how we arrive at that I leave to the community.

I would say that (in my personal opinion) we would not be throwing in any sort of reward.

Given this would be a community run event, there is a certain degree of structure that is lost. There would be possible allegations of cheating etc. (ie what's stopping someone from missile glitching).

I would be interested to see this kind of thing, but I would highly expect we would not be giving incentive's for this
