Few reasons, manifest is full so I have to spend credits on something, makes the round faster - Last night myself and three others lucked out in a wave 10 Plat, target was elimination - wave was done in about 20 to 30 seconds and on Plat the faster the waves go the better:), to me it`s a challenge, if someone on the team is a low level, we will go for three and get them, more XP and makes the wave fast.......if I am in a PUG gold that isn`t going so well, I will pull them out on 9 & 10 just to get it over with, rare that I do that however.

I saw that same guy run down the dead end in glacier while being chased by banshees... It was a facepalm moment...

50% e-peen, 50% erroneous belief that there's some kind of real reward for it. I was playing with some middle aged New Yorker in a PuG once who kept going for killstreaks and getting super pissed off if he didn't get them because he thought they give you more credits. He also insisted that promoting increases UR drop rate, so I didn't pay much attention lol

If it's a non-objective wave? To make them go faster, especially waves 5/8/9.

On objective waves? To make targets switch to something easier if it is assassination.

Well used missiles shorten the match significantly, increasing credits/time.

Yummy yummy killsteaks...

I do like to shorten the match, but the rule is still that at the absolute minimum, there needs to be 1 boss present. If I"m really trying to make the match go faster, I stick to two-boss missiles. I kind of like seeing the 'Killstreak' icon pop, though.

Lol getting sync killed early in wave 9 kinda defeats that purpose.

I don't see the connection between nuke spawns and getting sync-killed. Not Cobras are your only option to save someone being picked up by a Banshee or a Praetorian, y'know. And if a Phantom wants to stab you, she will, ain't nothing you can do about that. (Unless if you have good timing and OPS pack to save yourself).

i meant getting surrounded by banshees and not having enough rockets to save yourself

You can be surrounded by 2 banshees?  I thought there were 4 directions.

Well 2 banshees do have 4 boobs...

in earlier waves its a waste you can killstreak spawns with powers/grenades.
Later in the game it speeds it up

This. Although, honestly, I never complain when a random uses a missle. I have my missles for when the team needs them in later waves, if they want to use theirs early - well at least they are using them.

The point is: If you earn a kill streak, you just significantly depleted the enemy spawn budget with a single attack.

There's no special point in aiming for the streak itself, it's just the game's way of saying you're doing it right.

aside from going faster, if you nuke some boss with some mooch, the next spawn will have more mooches and less bosses..

(explained by someone in another tread, I think you can search for spawn mechanics..)

but it is damn satisfying!

You actually want to nuke the spawn with the elimination target in it (Banshee, Atlas, Prime, Praetorian). That's wave 3 (gold+). Good luck trying to killstreak those enemies with nades.

Besides, the team usually has 20 missiles. It's kinda pointless to have everyone save em for wave 9 or something. I rather have someone nuke a spawn in wave 3-5 than use missiles in wave 11 which is pointless if you like finishing matches quickly.

yes wave 3 you want to missile teh 1st target in the spawn so it swicthes to a smaller target. that would be the exception to what i said.

In our no missile speed run tournament we got 1 target to switch twice w/o using missile's lol

Jumbo Equipment Packs have at least 5 of everything.
Why save Cobras if I'm buying them -_-
Also it makes the game go faster.

Also.
