Heh yeah you got Loghain perfectly. He was an awesome character in the Stolen Throne, shame he went completely insane. Like Sialater said get some background on their and you'll have yourself a damn fine piece of work.
I was actually joking on that, and Reuben knows it, so don't take my word for anything. He shouldn't add background, unless it's VERY minimal. It makes more of an impact like it is. Like I said, they're "taking on the whole Empire by" themselves.

My opinion anyways, the man with the actual talent can do as he pleases with no argument coming from the peanut gallery over here. Already a great piece of work.

I understand the sentiment behind this remark; you're not the only one who feels this way, MadCat. And I don't speak for Reuben but for myself. I would rather have spirited debate and input from the poeple who care about the work than hushed reverence and "whatever you want to do is fine." Sometimes hearing the opinions of others can really take your work in a direction you did not expect and make it much better than if you were just toiling alone with no input from anybody. I'd rather harsh, but valid, criticism over fluffy praise any day.
Just my two cents. Oh, and this picture is totally badass. I was a little unsure at first because I didn't see where you were going with Maric's pose. I get the whole nonchalance thing now. In earlier versions he almost looked sheepish, which I didn't understand.

Exactly
Of course this is not to say I don't also seek approval
Herr Uhl- That is both scary and in this age of the interwebs unbelievably likely...

ExactlyI'm always seeking critiques where I can find them, if it weren't for Challenger I wouldn't have noticed how impossibly huge Maric was, and the picture was better for it
I don't mind any feedback, as long as it helps make the picture better
I can always try several versions to see which one fits better. I'm not quite good enough of an artist to make a drawing without input
And thanks for the compliments!
Of course this is not to say I don't also seek approvalI'm so weak *tears*
Great! Now that's been established, you can read my story and tell me how to make it better! You can find it here: www.fanfiction.net/s/5612769/1/Prodigal. It's only sixteen chapters so far, just over 40,000 words. You have time for that, right?

Oh I agree, when it comes to my writing I demand criticism and suggestions over praise. Yeah you like it that's nice, now tell me what you hate about it and make sure you get deep about it. But over the years I've learned there are very few people who hold a similar approach. I've been lambasted many times from various authors and artists because of simple suggestions like the one I offered earlier. But really that comment was spoken out of truth more then a safety net, Rubien can do whatever he wants at the end as it his art. I offered my suggestion and opinion, weather he heeds it or not is of no importance to me.
As to that pic you showed, I like that. The suggestion wasn't worded exactly the way I had it in my head. I meant do something symbolic rather than elaborate in the background. A large, dark tree overshadowing contrasted by their expressions would depict the feeling I was talking about earlier. Subtlety is almost always more powerful then detail.

And to Reuben, it's ok if you don't make it through. Looking back at the first half of the story, I feel like I started off with a bang in the first chapter, fumbled around a bit, then hit my stride around Chapter nine or ten. I may end up going back and revising huge swaths of the first half of the story once I finish.

Bad, bad mental image stuck in my head.....
Reuben here is Lady Winde's version of Rowan http://ladywinde.dev...Rowan-141423658
Also she is on the cover to The Stolen Throne but only in the background and kind of hard to see. I think she had brown curly hair and brown eyes. The cover picture made her face look kind of full and round, but pretty.
And awesome job Reuben on Loghain and Maric!
