Would you want someone who is N7 rated 12 bringing a lvl 12 soldier equipped with Avenger V and Predator V into Gold or Platinum?

oh really?
yesterday ago, i was bringing my Level 16 Krogan into Platinum lobby and they chose to vote-kick me, because my N7 rating was low. it's complete bs. pardon the term. but it's ABOUT playing for fun, enjoying the fun even with randoms and new ppl.

in my instance, i was booted out of 4 Platinum lobbies for same N7 rating thing.
N7 rating is just a number and  mean NOTHING to me. why the hell would i care about my rating? i don't.
my answer to that: "have fun playing the game, doesn't matter if you are low level or high level or about your N7 rating it doesn't matter at all period. just have some good time."

currently i have level 20 Krogan ha

Unmaxed rares and uncommons, nothing to indicate you wouldn't be leeching on Plat.

Become a regular silver player then a regular gold player then PUG plat.

Perhaps they didn't think they'd be able to have fun if you were in the game?  I often see the: "It's for fun, shouldn't care about it" justification for doing what you want.  But other people are doing this for their fun too.  If they think you would interfere with their enjoyment, no reason they should have to put up with that.

When I sees new player, I tend to shadow them to keep them out of trouble unless they walk into a certain death situation. Many don't have mic's which is highly unfortunate; hard to teach them with out communication.

There's "helping new players" and there's carrying. IMO, carrying isn't fun, and maybe it's selfish but I'm playing this for fun. It's also probably not all that fun for them (though you do get the occasional "Whoa.... you guys are really good..." which is always quite ego boosting) so I will keep on hopping in and out of lobbies that I think are too questionable quality-wise.

FTR, on silver I will play with anyone, on gold if I have one other person I will play with anyone (though we will probably mic in and try and offer advice, like "piercing doesn't help the gps..."). On platinum I reserve the right to kick anyone.

Maybe it's a little heartless, but I spent several hundred hours in bronze, and then silver, learning how to play. The best guns in the game won't make you suddenly a gold player (the number of Harriers on silver is freaking ridiculous. And you can still outscore them with a QMS Avenger if you know what you're doing), so playing above your level for credits is just frustrating for everyone.

And if you're a legitimately good player with a crappy manifest for whatever reason (I know a number of them), there are ways to show you know what you're doing. A player with a mattock V with appropriate equipment on a non-weapons dps reliant class will not get a kick from me.

Quoted for truth.

I put my time in bronze and silver before going to gold... There's nothing like FBWGG today though so you could dip your toes in gold...

Indeed it's about fun. Not being able to rely on your squadmates isn't fun. Having your game spoilt because of too much dead weight to carry isn't fun at all, it's frustrating. Due to how spawns work, it means that a plat game is harder with 3+1 lowbie than with 3 alone.
Moreover, when you're trying to complete your manifest, losing good consumables because you have to compensate for that dead weight forces to buy more JEPs, meaning less PSPs. That isn't fun either.

Hell, i don't understand how plat could be fun for a player who isn't able to do any significant damage and keeps dying.

Sorry, but your manifest screams that the kind of fun you expect from a plat PUG is to get carried. There might also be people out there who know they need a good and well balanced team to extract on plat and declare that as having fun. I don't see how you're the one to decide if these people are having fun the correct way.

I personally don't mind low N7 players in my matches because just as often as they are terrible, they actually surprise me and we're having a smooth match. I should add that I don't pug plat, but play gold.

yeah that's why i suggested text chat because i can't speak well on mic and because i am deaf so i can't hear at all. which is..  problematic. the communcation with team is very vital to the sucess of the mission.

the problem with that i can only play little in Platinum if i need to assist the players which much distraction to the enemy team, basically drawing their fire. i can offer the team to complete the objectives soon as possbile.

i don't pug, i play pretty well, it just depends on how i'm feeling.
for example,
"great - play great
good - play good
okay - play okay
well - play well
hurt - play poorly"
those are instances of the issues that can affect your mood on the gaming so that's why.

More money for all dificulties. Some people don't have 7000000 hours to play so they need paying more to get better stuff. That would keep people in the right places for longer.

Silver especially. A wave 10 wipe pays little more than a full bronze. I see those often. I'm only good with at least one other decent player around.

As for helping I have a monkey see monkey do policy. I hate talking whilst killing. As for revives I WILL(situation permitting) run the full length of the map to bail you out.

I don't have issues with newbies who show common sense. Charging your brand new Krogan into a Banshee is not showing me you have functioning faculties......

The problem with your reasoning is that you need to understand enemy spawns (= you need experience) and that anyone fire under in the open on plat who doesn't know what he's doing,  is just a death in the waiting. Even a Krogan with maxed fitness and Cyclonic Mod III (since you don't have lv. IV). To circulate on a map at that difficulty you need to know how to do it (= you need experience). And that also involves neutralizing enemies in one way or another. Which will mean killing them, with a Krogan, since you can't immobilize them.

You also can't do the 1-2-3-4 that easily if you're being aggroed, which means you have to let your squadmates do it and herd enemies away from the objectives while covering your ass and possibly the guy who is taking care of the objective(= you need experience and damage).

I also edited my previous post with something you may have not seen: the game is harder with 3+1 than it is with 3 alone due to how spawns work.

I thought you were getting kicked from a lobby, so I just assumed you were PUGing, because I personally have never been vote-kicked by people from my friendslist.

I also didn't say that you're bad, just that it's entirely reasonable for other players to assume you might not be too helpful in a plat match. If they decide that they can't handle platinum without four people pulling their weight, I don't see a problem with it.

Playing with an N7 120 on a regular basis (probably the best player I've played with so far (no, not Jay)) and seeing that player very rarely, if ever, getting a kickvote by a PUG when I was around, I doubt that that kick was entirely based on N7. (Of course, that's my personal experience and I seem to be on a different platform.)

Imho, you'll also be progressing a lot faster if you play on a difficulty you can actually handle...

If you however simply want to play on a difficulty where you're not contributing that much to the team, all power to you, but you'll have to expect people kicking you.

The sad truth is that you have to either be prepared to put in "real" cash OR the time and effort grinding in Bronze/Silver to get those decent upgrades.   And unless you are a really good player, you won't last long without them at higher levels.

It is tempting to try G/P initially as it equals more points.  But when you've died for the nth time and wasted xxx consumables - you know you're a burden to the rest of the team and go back down to your comfort zone.

(and SuperBlaze1 I have arthritis in my jaw + genetic joint condition which I'm on Morphine for - but ME3MP is a release for me when I can play it.  It still doesn't change the fact that even on my great days - I'm at most a Gold player.  You don't get a handicap for the bad days (no pun intended))

ok, fair enough. you've already got 40 challenge points. you're a solid bronze player. everyone was at some point, this is a good start.

but then again, what were you doing in a plat lobby? or even gold? if your teammates are busy and you're swarmed by 2 pyros, 2 bombers and 2 hunters with prime turret behind your back, what are you going to hurt that mob with? i pity the guy who carried you during your single successful gold match

I am all for helping/teaching new players. On Bronze and Silver.

If you are brand spanking new, don't start on Gold+. Period. If someone dropped into Gold+ by accident because of the default settings, the kindest thing a veteran can do is let them know what they dropped into and suggest they revise their search for Bronze or Silver.

Seriously. I don't understand that whole concept of teaching brand new people Gold+ right out of the gate. When I started as a newbie back in March, I didn't just hop into Gold and expect people to teach me the hardest (at the time) difficulty setting. I accidentally stumbled into a Silver game (thanks to the "Any Difficulty" default setting), promptly embarrassed myself, left the lobby after the Wave 3 team wipe, and discovered Bronze, where I stayed and learned and bettered myself until I could handle Silver... where I stayed and learned and bettered myself until I could start dipping into Gold.

Is it really a terrible thing to ask new players to start in the difficulty that is meant for them? You know, in a nice way, not in a being-a-jerk sort of way?

I'm not talking Silver people trying to transition into Gold. I have no problem helping them as best I can. But Level 1 N7 1 in a Gold lobby will likely not have a good experience, and neither will his teammates. *shrugs*

oh i carried myself, not others lol.
in my gold session, i already done more for the team.
as for platinum lobby, i was brought in by random to assist the team. apparently they picked me because i was very reliable and had some sort of "Bait" labeled to me lmao
