Ok, seems we do have a misunderstanding there. PUG = Pick Up Group = playing with randoms.

(Blaze: the problem with these i had to pull most of weight when three other players died i had to survive long enough to complete the objective to get them back up on feet yesterday)
Difficulty? Also, people not gelling when they need to even frustrates seasoned gold+ players, so I'm having a hard time believing that this was actually funny for you. I also don't know what you mean by staying alive long enough since your squad either: got up via medigel or probably would've bled out by the time you've finished that hack on your own. (Or any other objective.)

Did they tell you that? We still can't tell if they were douchebags or simply knew they might get into trouble without a strong squad. I'm also curious whether you had equipment and gear, because there are quite a few people who think it's bad taste to not equip any of these for gold and plat.

(Blaze: yep. i expect that, but i do contribute alot and it can be pretty not easy to keep up with track of scores on other players if you're constantly getting blinded by other player's attacks like flamer.)
While I agree that flamer can be annoying and score certainly isn't the most important factor of how much somebody contributed to a match, your definition of contributing a lot might differ from what other people think. (I.e. that generally you won't be contributing too much with an absurdly low score for a given difficulty.)
I'd also like to add that in this game - which might be unorthodox for a co-op - things like crowd control or drawing 'aggro' or having defined tasks at all is infinitely less useful than raw dps. (Which is the reason why Volus Sentinels are rarely seen at all, even though they offer healing and distraction.)
Bottom line: don't let that kick get you down and consider the advice to gain some experience in lower difficulties first.
