@superblaze1 if you would like to, Mus7ang and myself wouldn't mind running a few golds sometime in the future. I give you props for trying to play the game. When my headset's batteries die, my performance goes down a lot. I would have stopped playing if I couldn't hear what was going on in the game.

If you need a game recorded Rouse (Josehinojos) has the gear for XB and records some of our gold duo`s together, we learn quite a bit from watching them.

Rouse is one of my best friends in MP and we have shared hunreds of hours on the battlefield together, very nice guy and very, very helpful, he is the kind of player that always has your back, we work well together as he is a bit more grounded on the field than I am, depending on the kit.

We are trying new things with kits and weapons often, we try what we read here as well.

In short we would be happy to run a few with you if you are available.

Depending on the kit? Are you referring to the Volus Adept and Slayer I tried the other day? Yeah, not my greatest game for sure.

They have to put in the time, same as us. I'll be charitable in silver, but if they want to try gold or plat, it won't be in the same lobby as me. (barring extenuating circumstances)

I love helping the new players. I feel like I need to kick extra ass & protect them. And maybe they'll pick up a few things by watching how I play.

I hate playing with the experienced jerks because they run around killing all the enemies as fast as possible like it's some sort of racing game.

God forbid I play with better players, they must be all as bad as me.

How many players a lot better than you have you played with on ME3 Jay? Posted Image

Normally I don't mind helping a new guy in gold, but seems like lately there are just too many inexperienced players on gold. The games are longer, require more gels/ops/rockets and generally more frustrating. So recently if I don't see at least one really good equiped or two decent equiped players I will just leave.

Also had a lol moment there - joined lobby with will full equipement and saw two noobies with no gear, was about to leave but got instakicked before I could do that.. lol nubs :)

I don't have a problem with new players....I do have a problem with new players running a sub level 15 character with base weapons on gold or platinum though.

ok, let's do it this way. i will send you a friend request, we will set up a gold lobby, and we will have a gold game with me recording it on fraps

i will try to stick close to you to be able to track your actions. deal?

btw, are you going to be vanguard?

And for what it`s worth I would like to throw my GT in the hat and join also, I will be around today from noon eastern until 11 tonight.

This has nothing to do with judging anyone, let`s simply have fun and do a few gold, see how it goes and if everyone is game, let`s kick it up a notch to Plat.

As for playing or not playing tactically, I would like to think after 3,000+++ games I am doing something right, I take what others share here on BSN as their experience, the kind players that have shown me their various strategies, the hundreds of hours trying builds and hundreds of hours in game, to the field every time I play.

In the end I am sure we will learn something from each other, that is fun and fun is what this is all about.

GT at left

I'll be around from time to time this afternoon and evening. I may throw you a PM Mustang, and see how it's going.

Yesterday was that day where I promote all my classes and spend my saved up credits :wizard:. Of course, within 1 minute of promoting my final class, I received an invite to join a gold game. Let's just say I'm not there yet ;).

But as I was playing my ceremonial "last game with my Shadow before promoting her" (always a little sad for me) I started a Gold UU lobby. I was in my weapon tree or something, and noticed everyone was readying up on me. I flashed once to give myself a few more seconds, and everyone unreadied. Curious, I backed out of the weapons screen and saw that two of the three players were attempting to kick a third.

I hadn't seen that in a while. The fourth player had an N7 Rank of 80 (or so).

I can't carry a team, and in the case of two people kicking someone they know nothing about, I wouldn't want to, anyway.

Hardly ideal, but I quit the lobby. Naturally, that immediately results in the fourth player being kicked. So I started a new lobby, invited him and PMed him:
"I left. Those other two shouldn't have kicked you. They did so because of your N7 Rank. Bronze/Silver players are more tolerant."

He PMed me back, thanking me for the explanation. I didn't take him into a Gold game, though (can't carry) so we did Silver.

All told, 45 seconds out of my day. One happy new(ish) player.

As investment/reward goes, that's pretty good.

In silver sure, I will let a noob into my game. But when I play gold or Platinum you have to be over level 200 or I kick you right there. It's not a matter of skill but of you haven't played long enough to have any good gear.

Saw it in an INVADERONE video, where he got a PS3 and started a new account to give new players tips while he played a literally brand-spanking new account himself. And his screen clearly showed that Level 1 N7 1 first time ever opening MP... default is Collectors/Platinum.

He was speechless in the video.

I was horrified watching it.

That's one of the funniest things I've ever read here

The developers must literally have wet themselves laughing over that one.

I agree with you. I always let the rookies have a chance. Even if it is a level 16 with an N7 rank of 16 whose using a Phaeston II, like last night.

You do know that N7 is not a reliable indicator of how long someone has played, right? You'd kick Jay by your standard. :P

Loadout is the only thing that really matters, and even then, loadout doesn't tell you everything.

I plAy with a group of guys that are noobs, but the problem is they don't know a soldier lvl 5 with an avenger 3, will get slaughtered on gold, allot of them , are new to the series a well as the game.
So I took it upon myself to help lead them ,we did quite well, I think I was the most xp'd followed by a female player who I think plays silver mostly, the other 2 are new, we got got all the way to wave 9, three of them are cool ppl, maybe take a leadership role if your playing next time playing with newbies.

New has nothing to do with being a competent player, that much is pretty evident to me. I've played with a lot of new people that tried their best, made some errors but added to the team dynamic.

I've also played with a lot of 'non new' players that have combat skills but nothing else between the ears.

So recently I've noticed alot of negativity on BSN twoards rookies who are trying to made transtions to higher difficulties or just figure out how toplay the game. Everyone was a noob once, and I've seen tooo many threads complaining about them. Whenever I see someone who's got a low level loadout I welcome the chance to try and give them some expeince in hgiher difficulty levels, sure it may be a bit tougher but we all had to start out somewhere. Me and my friends always welcome the chance, as long as we think we can take it.

It's a sign of the growing community, and the simple fact of the matter is to everyone complaining about new people on gold. YOU HAVE TO PLAY WITH THEM, if you don't ever actually let any rookies play, how will they ever gain experince, and actually be able to compentenly play that level (actually some rookies are quite good, not that a majority o the people here would give them the chance to find out.) that you keep on complaining they don't have enough expeirnce to be in???

Honestly, if anything we should all be trying our best to help them, teach them how to reload cancel, share builds whatever! in the end your'e just making the community you play in all the better. We were all rookies once.

And also, any rookies (yes I know not many visit BSN, but theres an off chance) who are trying to transtion to gold, or want some gameplay tips, shoot me a msg (PS3) and I'll see if I can help.

Pretty much what I do and how I feel about helping newbies. I concur.:police:

Now is the time to go well out of your way to revive. Lets show our new players our generosity, because I am finding I am playing medic lately, but those I revive are picking me up more than before.

This is actually true for me, as well. I noticed a big influx of newer players on gold starting a few months back, but they're not so bad; more of these newer guys I run into actually go out of their way to revive teammates.

Just my (very) limited experience from playing recently, though, so I can't say for sure that it's more than coincidence.

So if a guy with N7 120, a maxed out ultra rare and full consumables joins your game, you'll kick them.

But if a guy with N7 600 with a low level uncommon and low/no consumables joins, you won't?

I don't know why ppl use n7 rank a viable way to rank if someone its gold worthy, I never use to promote my kits and just started doing and I play better than some who have n7xxxxxx , I've been playing the series since it started, IMO that n7 ranking can't determine playability

N7 of 120 or higher means absolutely nothing.

However, N7 below 120 means I will think of you as a newer player. Sorry.

Nothing to be sorry about, you wouldn't believe the amount of under 100N7's that were in Gold last night!:pinched: Yeah I couldn't leave fast enough.<_< Earn your stripes like the rest of us in Silver and Bronze then try Gold.
